Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Buying Pokémon stuff in Hong Kong

Leagues which knowingly allow players to use counterfeit cards are very likely to find themselves without a League. We will never knowingly allow a player using counterfeit cards to earn official prizes.

This post kind of scares me.

Mike, if you're reading this. A kid showed up at my league recently with a bunch of fake cards, and pretty much nothing else. No money on him either, just an 8 year old who had gotten all those cards on holiday in Spain. What do you want me to do? Tell him to not do anything? Or just let him play while telling him his cards ARE fakes and he should try getting real ones later on?

I cannot in good concience just turn away little kids who unknowingly have a lot of fakes. Can you do that?

Ofcourse, I tell them they should get real cards, but as long as they don't have direct means to do so, I'll let them play for once, so that they know we're not all evil and stuff. Ofcourse, if they KEEP coming with just their fakes, then its no dice, but just once? Really?

And now that I'm at it - what's the official stance on Proxys then, at league play?

id rather play with proxies but also would like to know what to do about fakes i mean evry time i see a kid with fakes i tell them to leave them at home but no matter what they stiil bring them then come up with more after i tell them dont buy them lol it just doesnt get through to them that fakes aernt aloud and at leagues even lol

...I live in London :thumb:

BTW - I completely forgot about us writing an update to the trophy article. Still interested?

I'll be staying in Wanchai, so that's a good tip! I'm really looking forward to it. One of my best friends is there and I haven't seen her for nearly two years!!

...I have a problem with counterfeits in general TBH. Its good that people have told me of all these stories though, if I do end up buying, I definitely need to be careful.

I remember absolutely ages ago some collectors buying stuff from HK but for the life of me I don't know where. Are there not any local card shops in HK that sell (preferably rare Japanese) stuff?

Was that place around a mall, and under it? If so that place closed down :(
The manager was the nicest guy, and had alot of rare cards in most TCGs

I have no idea if that's the place people were talking about, but that sucks!

The kind of thing that I want to be able to pick up from HK are things like Pokémon Scramble card set and the 2009 Movie packs - small stuff that would just be easier to pick up there. I guess HK doesn't import from Japan anymore... :frown:
