Well the title basically says it.
Why doesn't Kingdra work right now?
The format is for the most part moderately, making such a deck and setup decks like Magmortar and GG possible.
Now, Kingdra swarm is a prime example of something that should be good right now but doesn't see play.
140 HP first off is hard to beat no matter what.
Being an ex is a big downside but manageable.
It's body reduces attacks up to 40 damage!
Decks are primarily low output right now. Gallade is an exception but its huge damage output will only last once.
It's delta, meaning it has tons of nice support cards.
Once setup, Psychic Lock won't hurt that much, and the low damage output of Psychic Lock makes a Kingdra ex a difficult 3 or even 4 hit KO, due to its body. On the other hand, Gardy is easy to take out with a Swirl and Energy Link.
Kingdra's retreat cost is great, and provides for more efficient swarm.
Magmortar is becoming less popular, so Mag Lv. X and sniping isn't as big of a threat.
Altaria ex d helps charge up Kingdra fast.
Holons Castform helps provide insane draw power for easy access to setup without powers if necessary.

Anyway, just some things to ponder on about this card.
Don't feel like testing it, but I think its still decent and has a chance in this format,

I played one in regionals, it actually was a pretty good deck.

The fact it's an EX just really does it in.

    It's... Gonna hurt...?
    Unown G wouldn't be discarded
    Kingdra can remove it's weakness
Kingdras can negate all of the damage from Pachirisu
    Pachirisu's weak to Kingdra

So... yeah. That's not a bad thing at all.

Sonic Blade hurts, a lot. You can opt for Unown G but its hard to get out. GG tends to set up faster as you do.

Also, Magmortar's sniping power sends his <3 to any benched setupper you may have.

    Oh yeah, hi Dusknoir.

For some reason, people seem to avoid anything named "ex" since Secret Wonders has been released.
They don't play Flygon ex or Dragonite ex, they don't tech any Rayquaza ex or Absol ex any more.

Hard to get out? I don't think you'll find any non-basic-energy card that's easier searchable than Unown G.

Dugtrio or even Cloyster (if you focus on d Pokémon only).

Hello Dusknoir, mind cleaning up the rubble? Thanks.

Yeah, lets use Fearow. AND Pidgeot D. AND Dugtrio. AND Unown G. AND a starter. AND 4 Horseas.

How are you gonna combat the threats?
