Haven't had a chance to get this report up till now since I've been working like MAD, but better late then never! I'll even throw in the decklist for you guys since its pretty standard anyways (and cause I'm awesome).

    Pokemon: 20

    3 Ryolu
    3 Lucario
    1 Lucario lvl x
    4 Piplup
    4 Prinplup
    3 Empoleon
    1 Empoleon lv x
    1 Holon's Castform

    Energy: 17

    5 Water
    5 Fighting
    4 Multi
    2 Scramble
    1 DRE

    Trainers: 23

    4 Castaway
    4 Celio
    4 Great Ball
    4 Quick Ball
    1 Holon Mentor
    3 Cessation
    1 Strength Charm
    1 Copycat
    1 Wager

Looking back, I would make the following changes:

    -4 Great Ball
    +4 Dual Ball

Still averaging one Basic, but you can get the Castform with this. Plus I'm a gambling addict.

    -1 Empoleon lv x
    +1 Wager

Empoleon lv x is easily the worst lv X in the game. The Power is dumb, and the attack is terrible (cant attack next turn? so BAD). Wager is strong with Lucario/Cess, so I'd keep a 2nd one in there to avoid prize problems.

Round 1 vs Abe with Lucario/Tech

SO I TRUKROLLZED HIM RALFO... j/k :-D. I start Ryolu vs Absol ex (yes!). I attach and flip tails on kick. He attaches, Castaways for a Mentor, and passes. I Lucario, Castaway for Charm + Fighting and hit for 100 :(. Sorry Abe.

    1-0

Round 2 vs Ashley with Blissey

I got a nice hand of Ryolu/Lucario and the one Mentor and was able to get a fast enough start to overpower the big EGG.

    2-0

Round 3 vs Matt Alvis with Infernape

He got a weak setup of Skitty/Pass against my semi-fast Empoleons. Empoleons pretty good against Infernape!

    3-0

Round 4 vs James with Lucario/Tech

We both got nice setups, but I hit a wager vs him and he had some trouble recovering. I gambled at the end and made a play that would lose to his Ray ex d/Lake boundary if he ran Windstorm in his deck, but I was fairly sure he didnt, and he didnt :-D. Close game.

    4-0

Round 5 vs Lucario/Aipominonidudu (whatever the stage 1 is)

We both got solid starts with fast Lucarios, but he won the wager :(. I made a 6-1 comeback to make it 2-1 and would have won if I won the last minute Wager, but my RPS skills failed me :(.

    4-1

Top 4 vs Matt Alvis with Infernape

Game 1: I get a fast Empoleon against his garbage start, and he can't recover.
Game 2: CASTFORM START! ugh. I sit back while he sets up, trying to get my Empoleons going. Gets close at the end, but he has some key basics prized, and I'm able to pull out the win.

    5-1

    Finals vs Ricky with Mario

Game 1: I open with Piplup vs Ryolu and do 10; he fails his wild kick. I bench another Piplup, win a wager, and do 10 more. He plays Lucario and does 30. I evolve to Prinplup, lay a Cess, and do 40. He plays the Lv x (no stance cause Cess) and Close Combats. I peck with a Charm for game.

Game 2: Opposite of game 1. He wins the Wager and beats me in 4-5 turns.

Game 3: He gets a better setup than me, and a Wager loss + Machamp finishes me off. GGs Ricky.

    5-2

    Props to ALL! (Except Foisy)
    Slops to Foisy!

Nice job Chuck! Empy/Lucario is BDIF in my opinion despite Blissey giving it some problems. Also, did you find your Lucario lvl X to ever be much use? I think Lucario/Cess/Wager is so powerful that I would think it wouldn't do much for you.

  4. Very Entertaining to read. Even here in Texas. I give it 5 stars. Think this is the kind of reports the gym is looking for. Way to go Ricky since my son is a Mario fan and is looking for King Gengar Mario total World Domination.

Great job Alex! I didnt realize that wager can be so annoying. Now im going to have to find a counter for that nasty card. Remember "That Card Looks EVIL"

How does this even WORK with 1 LEGIT draw card?

Almost all your games were won with lucario + cess/winning a wager.

Why not just cut empleon for something useful?

Because this game is more about consistancy now then anything else. Get massive search and have energy/your tools/more supporters at your disposal is almost always better then random draw 5. Anywho, nice job Chuck. Beware that mushroom-popping Italain!!

Well....Lucario is soo good because the fact you can turn 1 KO a Casty or anything else that is weak to Fighting.....This deck is insanely fast and can spread damage like crazy. it is also VERY disruptive. You almost will Never start out with a bad hand with this deck. Mathcups are just amazing for this deck.
Also...Chuck...whats with the no Absol EX?
I know you have Cess C. but still...late game it can help so much but, you won with it so you must be doing something right.

  14. GJ Chuck,
It's my bad for putting more than one absol. Something which I knew was not necessary. It won't be so easy next time...LOL.

Davids Confused Pokedad: Trust me, I have the love for chuck. I have tons of respect for him as a player. Yet I know a flawed decklist when I see one.

Papi/Manny: What you said made absolutely no sense. Did you LOOK at his decklist? He doesnt HAVE any Massive search. How is he supposed to be getting energy and consistancy off playing a million masterballs, quickballs, and great balls. They only fetch you one card. He has no consistant way of drawing into any energy.

SSvegeta: Matchups are never bad for this deck? Feraligatr d? Blissey/Electrivire? Those are near autolosses.

An early Lucario can only go so far you know. Once the opponent knocks it out what is alex supposed to do then? setup with his 0 draw? All those greatballs and quickballs wont save him when he needs energy + a setup.

Absol ex? Cess Crystal makes that absolutely unplayable. The whole point is to keep Cess OUT in play. Therefore making absol completely counterproductive.

Lucky for alex he got paired up versus APE. More then enough times.
