I have to say that Im overall pleased with the set. Yes, its terrible, but they reprinted Smeargle with the sickest artwork ive seen on a playable card in a while. Also, the holo energies are the sexiest cards ive ever seen. I walked away with 3 of them after some trades, and called it a successful day.

i got 6 of them 2 lightning and fighting , 1 fire and 1 grass plus 4 LW's other then that not much i hope some of the collectors like the are cause the set is full of worthless cards....

This set will be very difficult for collectors. >.< (Those that decide to collect it, that is.) The ratios are starting to surface, and it's looking like 2-3 shinies and 2-3 shiny energy per box. if you're unlucky with shinies, that means you could open FIVE BOXES and not get them all. That's bad. >.< Also, in a PR with almost 70 players, we got ONE pulled shiny Raikou out of all of them. Looks like it's the rarest card in the set.

Also, for those who were concerned about Lost World's rarity, it looks like it is the rarest of the TSS, but not by much. Looking like about 3-4 a box so far. TSS seem to be really easy to pull, I had a pack that all three uncommon spots were TSS, and the RH spot, too! (Interviewer's, Copycat, Lost Remover, and Lost World, in case anyone wondered.)

Idk why, but I never agree with pokegym's opinion on art/ i.e. Smeargle. I hate that art with a burning passion. . .

Yeah, lol. It looks ok but kinda weird.

I'm a player over a collector so I don't care about illustrations.

I’m just kind of speechless at this point. This has just been the worst season of Pokemon since I started playing like 5 years ago. I was actually holding out hope for this set, but like so many times before, I shouldn’t get my expectations up at all. We started this season off with the controversial decision to keep an MD-on format (thereby extending SP’s dominance), it’s almost time for State Championships and we just got our ratings posted, Japan has shifted to an HGSS-on format while we’ll probably chug along with our unhealthy version of the game, that rule for the top cut was inexplicably changed, we lost the use of foreign cards entirely this season, Gust of Wind is returning soon, decks can currently do like 100+ damage first turn (Uxie donk) or up to 250 damage second turn (Mewperior), and then there’s this set… which just feels like a cruel joke to competitive players.

I know that P!P has some limitations on what they can and can’t do. I know they work hard at producing a healthy, fun game for all parties involved. However, I also think that they’ve made some poor decisions lately – decisions that have hurt the format and kept the game in the same place it was two seasons ago when SP’s hit the scene. My brother was joking around last season when he said that maybe he’d be able to play Palkia Lock at Regionals for a third year in a row. Sadly, he’ll more than likely get his wish.

This set is looking to be quite pathetic… :<

What's sad is that this set will both have a huge impact on the metagame thanks to Lost World and still manage to be one of the worst sets ever.

I'm not really going to whine at this point. I'm just going to speak with my money. No PRs for me or my family. No box for this set. I'll do my best to talk the kids out of random buys of packs for this set.

That's the short term. Long term I'm personally done with any primary market buys of the TCG until I'm more satisfied with the direction of the game.

The art is just epic. I love this set for its art, I dislike the set for its ultra-rare unplayables. It's a hate-love thing going on here. Ninetales+Smeargle+Eeveelutions+Feraligatr+Vulpix is epic.

The thing that surprises me, is that the set has an insane percentage for holos. For a set with 106 cards to have 22 holos at the beginning, 11 secret holos, and another 8 cards that only come in RH, is an insane ratio. That means that out of 106 cards, 41 of them come in holo in their NORMAL state and of those 19 come ONLY in holo. That's totally insane. 38% comes in holo originally and 18% comes ONLY in holo.

i guess its not a total let down because the art is pretty cool. but thats about it. i may go to a prerelease for the heck of it,

I didn't even go to PR lol, I'm too poor for it. Not really, I could afford it, but IDK if I even want to now lol.

I like sets with more holos. It makes for better collecting. A lot of the regular holos will only be $1 on trollandtoad, anyways.
