* The term "any effects" does not include effects that alter Weakness and Resistance. (May 3, 2017 TPCi Rules Changes Announcement; May 18, 2017 TPCi Rules Team)

POKEMON ABILITIES

== ALLERGY PANIC (Vileplume - BW:Boundaries Crossed)

Q. If Vileplume's "Allergy Panic" Ability is in effect, does Rayquaza's "Shred" attack consider a Defending Pokemon's weakness as x2 or x4?
A. Shred isn't affected by "any effects on the Defending Pokemon", but the term "any effects" does not include effects that alter Weakness or Resistance. So in this case the Defending Pokemon's Weakness would be x4 due to Allergy Panic. (Feb 28, 2013 TPCi Rules Team; May 3, 2017 TPCi Rules Changes Announcement; May 18, 2017 TPCi Rules Team)

Q. If Vileplume's "Allergy Panic" Ability is in effect, does Rayquaza's "Shred" attack consider a Defending Pokemon's weakness as x2 or x4?
A. Although Shred does not ignore Weakness, it does ignore the x4 effect from Allergy Panic. (Feb 28, 2013 TPCi Rules Team)

== BODYGUARD (Marowak - XY:Fates Collide)

Q. Does Marowak's "Bodyguard" Ability prevent me from revealing my hand from an opponent's Trevenant's "Poltergeist" attack?
A. Yes, it does. (May 18, 2017 TPCi Rules Team)

== CLEAR HUMMING (Altaria - XY:Roaring Skies)

Q. Altaria has a printed weakness to Lightning, but it also has the "Clear Humming" Ability which creates an effect that gives it no weakness. What happens if it is attacked by Zebstrika with the "Zap Zone" Ability which makes its attack's damage ignore effects on the defending Pokemon? When Zebstrika attacks Altaria, is the damage altered by weakness or not?
A. Zap Zone refers to "any effects on your opponent's Active Pokemon", but the term "any effects" does not include effects that alter Weakness or Resistance. So in this case Zebstrika's attack will NOT be increased for Weakness, due to Clear Humming. (Mar 24, 2016 TPCi Rules Team; May 3, 2017 TPCi Rules Changes Announcement; May 18, 2017 TPCi Rules Team)

A. Clear Humming is an effect that gives Colorless Pokemon no weakness. Zap Zone ignores this effect, so Zebstrika's attack will be increased for {L} Weakness. (Mar 24, 2016 TPCi Rules Team)

== G BOOSTER (XY:plasma Storm)

Q. If Genesect EX uses "G Booster" to attack a Pokemon with Grass Weakness but that Pokemon has a Weakness Policy Tool attached, is Weakness applied or not?
A. G Booster isn't affected by "any effects on the Defending Pokemon", but the term "any effects" does not include effects that alter Weakness or Resistance. So in this case, Weakness is NOT applied. (Feb 26, 2015 TPCi Rules Team; May 3, 2017 TPCi Rules Changes Announcement; May 18, 2017 TPCi Rules Team)

== POTION (Base Set; others)

Q. When using Potion, can I choose to heal less than 30 damage from my Pokemon?
A. If the Pokemon has 30 or more damage on it you must heal 30 damage, but if it has less than 30 damage you do as much as you can and heal all of it. (May 18, 2017 TPCi Rules Team)

== ROUGH SEAS (XY:primal Clash)

Q. When using Rough Seas, can I choose to heal only some of my {W} and {L} Pokemon or do I have to heal all of them?
A. If you choose to use Rough Seas you must heal all {W} or {L} Pokemon with damage counters on them. (May 18, 2017 TPCi Rules Team)
