Alright, anyone who knows my current record will figure out how this turns out by the title. ^_~
Anyways, we were down in Biloxi for the weekend because of my sister's tournament soccer. We get up Sunday morning, get ready, and head to the Gym Challenge with only directions on how to get to Mandeville...not the store. Luckily, this is not the first time we've been there, but atleast last time we had the street name. Luckily, we remembered the appoximate area in was in and found it no problem. I go ahead and sign up seeing as I got there probably a little before registration began. Get deck sheet, fill it out, yada yada yada. My dad ends up running the computer for Rick, and my little brother does the judging. After much waiting due to the ever-faulty TMS we finally begin.
Forgive me if I forget some names and/or Pokegym names.
First Round vs. Clay Carney [~Blazi-King~] (Blaziken/Slaking)
One word: Pwnage. By this first round I couldn't tell you what he ran other than the Singe Torchic. I go first, get a second turn Rayquaza (w/ Multi), Blaziken, -and- Delcatty and completely pwn his only poor little Torchic.
1-0
-Lunch Break-
Pretty uneventful...pizza arrives...we eat...
Second Round vs. Magma deck
Same word as before: Pwnage. Unfortunately, I don't get an energy I need to Energy draw on my second turn so this one ends on the third turn, same way. I slaughtered his lone TM Numel. Afterwards we play a game for fun...ends in the same result, just takes a heck of a lot longer.
2-0
Third Round vs. Mike Cook [Team_Cook] (Flygon w/ Rayquaza)
He was just happy it wasn't over in the first few rounds. ^_~ He doesn't take a prize, but it takes me a while to get fully going... (Dunsparce almost KO'd his Vibrava by itself...thas a good many "Sudden Flashes" to stall with XD). After my 4th prize he just throws down his other Rex to get it over with (by this time I had a Bex ready to strike again)
3-0
Fourth Round vs. Sceptile/Caturn
Lemme just start off by saying: If its grass, and lacks Muk ex, I love it. ^_^ Although, I was forced to Blaze swarm him to the best of my ability due to crap draws. He gets lucky with Sceptile and OHKOs one of my Blaziken. Luckily, I'm still able to pull off the victory...I believe I won by benching him out...I seem to be doing that alot today
4-0
Fifth Round vs. Dylan Langenstein
We're both undefeated (and in separate age divisions) so we ID.
4-0-1
We don't take much of a break, although he has us sitting there a while, while he's getting everything ready.
Semi Finals vs. Brent (Blaziken/Gardevoir)
I must say I've never seen a deck combine these two. It was pretty good for a rogue. I end up winning the first game, him the second, and like most of my finals matches it goes onto the third game where I pull off my upsetting victory. A great match overall...sorry I can't go into detail...things are a bit fuzzy
Finals vs. Diana (Swampert/'Cune/Wobuffet)
This is the deck I knew I had to watch out for during the tourney. I knew I had very little competition, and at the very least this one would give me problems...I was just hoping her son would beat her in the semi-finals. ^_~
First game, I'm Delcatty-less can't draw one for the life of me. I put up the best fight I can but Wobuffets seem to get in my way too much...they ain't even doing anything but sitting there. XD
0-1
Second game I get rolling, I end up tearing her deck apart...this is how I wish the last one turned out.
1-1
Third game. My hands are worse than the first game...if you don't believe me...ask Rick...they were horrible...worst hand all day. Seems I burned up all my luck during swiss...bad hands were bound to catch up to me after those first two rounds. ^^; But alas all I could do was sit back with my pitiful hand of pitiful-type cards. Yes, once more, as Rick put it, "Always the brides maid, never the bride." I believe its self explanitory...but if you need an explanation I'll give you one.
Yes, once more I end up second place. This is my -3rd- time, in -3- consecutive weeks, to get 3rd...er...2nd...yeah...2nd ^_^;
Well, I suppose all thats left now is for me to evaluate my options. I have, at most, 3 more chances to win a trip: Oklahoma, Nationals, then South Stadium Challenge. Not too sure about going to Oklahoma though. I know quite a few people from Texas...and one from St. Louis (Yes, you Vince ) who would probably rather I didn't show up at that one.
Well its 12:30 AM...so thats it for now.
