Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

cosplayers freaks or just misunderstood

Cosplaying is only acceptable if you're a hot girl. That rules out 99% of the cosplayers.

You mean 99.8% of cosplayers. When I cosplay (I really am too old for this...), it's always as someone who is fully dressed. For example, one year at Sakura-Con I cosplayed as "Mama" from Kodacha. Had a hamster wheel on my head with a stuffed chipmunk inside it, and I wore a kimono. It was fun, and some of the looks I got walking in Pacific Place mall were just priceless. The best part is that even though I was dressed like a "freak", many people at the mall came up to me and asked what was going on.

I can't wait for Kumori-Con. I am going to use my Pokemon Professor Lab coat and cosplay as... wait for it... a Pokemon Professor. Best part is that I am having Sarah my daughter dress up as a Pikachu girl. She's already excited. Now if only I could put her in a Pokeball...

Cosplaying isnt that bad....I have a cyborg 009 cosplay (if anyone knows what this is >_>)

Crossplaying, on the other hand...

Also, i was at Furcon (card tournament), and everything was normal...
Then when we were getting up to leave,

They came.

The fur suits were scary >pyo!<
I still have nightmares!

(not really, but still freaky)

I did something at Nats that didn't get much attention, I was disappointed. I had my hair dyed into Groudon's head pattern and walked around brandishing red white clawed gloves.

Groudon Supes FTW.

Haha! Dek, thats one of the coolest things I've ever seen! Hahahaha!
That folks, is how you cosplay. Mix two awesome things together like that and there you go.

I just don't know what to say about that one.............
Cosplay goes into many branches of the form.

Main Folder:Cosplay
1.Human (Okay I think I have this part down)
a.Video Game (No more Halo!)
b.Manga/Anime (You seen one fat Naruto and Inuyasha you have seen them all)
c.Made up(You ask who are they?)

2.Animal
a.Pokemon (over 400 to choose from!)
b.Fictional Anime from Manga/Anime/Book (Another dragon)
c.The thing you see at Football/Basketball games dancing on the side lines(And is where they should stay)

3.Halfbreed
a.Half-human and Half Animal (Inuyasha in terms)<!ENOUGH CAT PEOPLE!>
b.Random one from Videogame/Manga (Rabbit thing from .hack//)
c.Half Pokemon Half Human (Which might end up being me wearing clothes that make me look like a Lucario)

The only thing out of here that scares(creeps me out) me is the mascot like costume for animes.(Not Pokemon)

omg, xD Gai.

I've seen some good cosplays out there(that Tifa is amazing) and when done right it's almost incredible how much passion these people have for it. I cosplay as well but unlike most, I have money(I buy those $400000 costumes) and thus I can usually pull off a really good Shikamaru, etc.

cosplay only seems to happen with japanese things, meaning that if a women cosplays they can expect to be wearing bearly anything, and a guy can expect to have to have everything specially made cause its so weird looking.

monsterofthelake is right.

and cosplay should be final fantasy only. nothing beats (in coslplay perpective) a songdress yuna and theif rikku if the person doing it is extreamly attractive.

The 1.2%.........

I see cosplay all the time, whether it's at san diego comicon or the shrine auditorium monthly con. I'm 42, married, but I still love it for that 1.2% of beautiful women (such as Marril01 & nanna_1664 from cosplay.com) and I think they make it worth it, even though that other 98.8% makes me want to commit sepiku! LOL

Re: Star trek cons......there are some great looking women in those short skirted 60's outfits there. I think that's the only reason I liked the og trek....it sure wasn't Shatner's acting!lol

IMO if you can pull it off, go for it! if you can't just have fun with it and enjoy being around others of like mind. whatever happened to don't tread on me? it's not really hurting anyone, no matter how bad some folks look!

BTW:Go to G-Fest, the Godzilla con that's held in chicago, if you want to see some truly cool costumes, lik 90's Godzilla, the newest MechaGodzilla, etc. These guys REALLY put in the effort, and it's all from scratch! it's a really good time, family oriented, and a great source for G-Fandom!

I too am a Godzilla fan! Adn kamen rider, ultraman, Kikaida, etc. I better stop, people will start calling me Otaku! LOL

Try going to a Renaissance Fair. I swear those guys are as nuts as the most hardcore anime cosplayers...

My own opinion about them, they are 99% nuts (about anime) but there are "normal" ones :p

I personally think that if they made their own suits they are artists, and thus have the right to be nuts.
