I'm more of a tcg player so I don't understand the VG metagame much, but I would like to know what makes Cresselia and Dragonite so widely played :) thanks!

Cresselia is mainly used for it's able to take hits like a champ and heal them off with leftovers or sitrus berry. Paired with the ability to learn a great deal of support moves like helping hand, icy wind, thunder wave, and even trick room. It also has Levitate for the ability, so earthquake can be thrown around by your partner.

Dragonite is just an all around good pokemon. It can have either Inner focus making Fake out useless or Multiscale making it hard to take down. Multiscale with Roost to heal off any damage means it will stay around. Also it can attack with special or physical attacks - it gets great moves and stats in both attacking departments.

The new ability Dragonite has is worth looking into: Multiscale. In single battles, You can survive an Ice Beam to Dragon dance if you select the Dragonite to be a physical sweeper.

The only problem is getting a Dragonite with Multiscale in the first place...I have yet to see it once in the DW after crossing 10k points, let alone a female one I'll need to properly breed a Dragonite :(

I like Cressy because they are good at messing up your opponents day. They are pretty fast for tanks. Like Ulti said, Thunder Wave is a must. There are also may ways you can use them. I'm liking the idea of a special attacking set. I'm still working the details on it and such.
