First Da Trading Forum Rules

- The trading forum is for pokemon themed items only. This is the POKEgym, not .....gym, ......gym, or ......gym - get it?

- Your profile MUST have a valid email address. If the Da Tribunal cannot contact you, you may find you cannot trade anymore.

- There is absolutely no selling or buying of cards in the trading forum anymore. If you wish to sell you can first go HERE to see if you qualify to sell on the Pokégym. If you do please follow the very simple steps on the link above. If you are a verified seller you can only sell cards in the Auction & Selling House. If you wish to buy you can post a list in the Buyer House. Please keep in mind the Auction/Selling forum and the Buyers House Both have their own rules so please take the time to read over them as well before posting in those forums.

- You can only have two (2) active topics in this forum. If you already have 2 and wish to start another for some strange reason, you can edit one and change the title of it to "Please Close". Hint: instead of starting a new topic, you can save time by just Editing your original post to reflect your new Haves and/or Wants.

- If you already have 2 and wish to start another for some strange reason, you can edit one and change the title of it to "Please Close". Here’s how you do that: First of all, go up to your earliest post in the thread that you no longer need – post #1. Head to the bottom of that post and click on the link that says, “edit”. When the screen opens back up, you can go down to the bottom of the box and click on the link called, “go advanced”. When it opens a second time, you can edit the title of your thread to, “Please Close,” “Mods, Please Close,” or “Please Lock,” or any appropriate combo of the above. We’d like to ask you to not edit your first post’s contents – just the title – when you want to close out a topic. This is for your own protection in the case that something happens. If you don’t edit the contents, the mods can look at the original contents to help you whenever trade disputes happen.

- Those who have more than 2 topics open in the trade forum may find all their trade threads closed for a period of time.

- If you reply to your own topic excessively, you can find it being locked. Back to back posts are considered spam and should be avoided if possible. Also you may find your topic locked because you kept 'bumping' it within a short amount of time. (No more then three times in a row, unless a significant update of several cards is made.) If no one replies to your topic, chances are you currently do not have anything that people currently need. Don't despair, someone new might be interested later on.

-12) All trades MUST be posted in this forum, We are coming across cases of people complaining about trades and when we ask for proof the usual reply is "I traded it through pm". So no more PM deals as we cannot verify them. This also includes ALL negotiations for a deal.

- You MUST have both a haves AND a wants list.

- Please don't bump other members threads.

- Those with less refs will send first. Unless the one with more agrees differently.

- If you bump your thread without replying to any of the members who have made offers or want to make a trade you will be given a warning and if you continue you will find you thread being locked and possibly a short vacation from trading here.

- No trading of "signed" energy's or other "signed" cards for references as there is no trust that way.

- No trading of Deck lists. (Sorry but it's too much like trading something material for something immaterial)

- No trading of personal art work or fake cards. (we do not like to infringe upon copyrighted material)

- No trading of non-pokemon related items.

- Only list stuff you have intentions of trading, If you list things and have no intention of trading them you will be asked to remove them from your list. (This is the trading forum, not the bragging forum)

- You must have the cards/items in your possession to post them on the site or to even offer them in a deal. (save on grief and aggrevation when the card you thought you were going to get never arrives)

-No pre trading for cards that have yet to be released. (save on grief and aggrevation when the card you future traded never arrives)

- You must list your cards, pictures and/or videos alone are not allowed. (Helps members searching for the card)

- Also please use some common sense - do not post offers to other people on someone else's topic! (That's hijacking)

- Pokegym rules supercede any other rules you may make so please keep that in mind.

- Pokegym staff are never required to send first under any circumstances, We are trusted to uphold the site then we are trusted traders, buyers and sellers.

-The use have a middle man is not allowed as it causes to many problems. Each member is responsible to send their own side of a deal.

Words Of Advice When Trading

You know the saying, "A fool and his money are soon parted"!

Same thing for a fool and his cards.

Be a smart trader. Build up trust with your trading partners by starting small.
Don't do a huge trade with someone you don't know as your first trade.
Build references with trusted trading members.
In person trades don't count. There's no trust involved.

Just remember, you don't have to think everyone is a thief, but don't be a patsy either.

Da Gym's Reference System

Welcome to another level in PokeGym history! We are updating our reference system with a new way of leaving references for members who you have made trades, sales or purchases with. This new system is fairly simple as it is very similar to Ebay's feedback system.

Here is a link to the old Good/Bad traders reference list. You don't have to go back and record your old trades in the new system, but we encourage you to do so. The old trader refs list will remain locked and stickied for a year or so, during the transition. You aren't required to use this new system to record your references for others, but wouldn't you feel great to see your number under your avatar grow, to the point of being past the point that you will be allowed to sell here on the gym? How do you think your traders would feel about that? We're sure they'd like it too. If you find that people you've traded with haven't updated you on the new itrader system, you can give them a polite private message asking them if they'd like to check out the new iTrader system, and give you a ref while they are there.

Here is how it will work:

A) In person trades do not count. They never have.
B) To leave a ref on the gym the trade must have been done on the gym.
1. You both need to have the deal posted on one of your trading/selling/buying threads and to leave a reference you need to copy the url from the thread it was made on.
------> In other words trades done via AIM, MSN, and/or elsewhere do NOT count.

2. Click the number beside "iTrader" , example : iTrader: (0) , located under the users avatar and it will take you to that member's references.

3. Select Submit Feedback for this member.

4. You need to then paste the thread url to where the deal was made into the space provided. If you don't put a deal url in it will not submit the reference.

5. Choose from the drop down if you were the:

A. trader
B. buyer
C. seller

6. You must then leave a short quote of how your trade/sale/purchase went and that will be displayed in the list of refs.

7. You must leave a complete reply to how your trade/sale/purchase was and if you where happy or disappointed with the trade/sale/purchase in the larger comment box. It doesn't have to be a paragraph, but a short note is necessary , this will be only visible if you click on the short comment you left above.

8. Finally submit it and you have left a reference for the person you just dealt with.

So as you can see it is a fairly simple process.

9. If you notice abuse of the system, profanity, or unnecessary rudeness in a ref, you can (and should!) report it using the triangular report button, the same as posts.

10. If you happen to get a bad ref, and you disagree with the assessment, you can appeal to the moderators about this by reporting the ref.

11. If you are found creating a new account just to leave yourself a ref, you will find your new account being banned and your regular account on a 2 week vacation from the site. Attempting this more than once may result in a much longer ban and you sending first to everyone for a very long time.

We will be locking the current "Da'Gym's rules & Good/Bad Traders List" thread which was used for displaying the current refs and rules of the site and leave it there for a determined period of time.

iTrader Reference Guidelines

Here is a outline on how to rate your trading experience on the Pokegym. Please keep in mind that international trades can take time due to customs and other unforseen circumstances which is out of the members control. We suggest you keep all your receipts for proof of post for any trades. If you receive more than 2 negative refs you may find youself banned from trading , and possible from the site, depending on the severity of the offence.

All feedback also depends on if the Pokegym rules were also obeyed. If you are a seller on the gym and receive more than 1 neutral or 1 negative feedback you will find your selling rights revoked for 6 months to permanently, this will be at the staff's discretion.

Positive Feedback

-Everything with your trade went exceptionally smooth, Both sides sent their trades, sales or purchases in a timely manner.
-All items were nicely packaged and nothing was damaged.
-Both sides had good communication when contacting each other.
-Even if one side couldn't mail when promised thier was good communication and it was dealt with.
-Both sides come out pleased with their experience with each other.

Neutral Feedback
(Staff can change this as they see fit)

- Trade, sale or purchase was not sent in a timely manner (2-5 days late) without proper communication.
- If you knowingly misrepresent your cards condition (this slightly affects the relative value of the trade) but the trade still goes through you can receive a neutral.

Negative Feedback

- Exceedingly late shipping (1-2 weeks) from when you were suppose to without little to no communication with the other member.
- Didn't ship anything at all and backs out of trade without notice.
- Didn't ship what was suppose to be shipped, makes no effort to make it up.
- Cards are not even close to agreed upon condition, makes no efforts to send proper condition items.
- doesn't ship items after receiving and makes no efforts to send their end. (This may result in being banned from the site as a ripper at a mods discretion)
- If you knowingly misrepresent your cards condition (this greatly affects the relative value of the trade) and your cards hafve to be sent back a negative ref can be left.
- If you back out of a trade after address are exchanged you get a negative reference and the other party receives NO reference.

Our staff reserve the right to change or add rules and regulations at any time without notice. If you disagree with any of these rules please post your concerns in the Team Compedium Hideout. the staff will always have the final say under any circumstance.

Problem With A Trade, Sale or Purchase?

-If you have a problem with a Gym trader: email [email protected] stating what the problem is, who it is with (screen name and real name), the email address of that person (if you have it), mailing address, and a time line of the trade. Please include as much detail as possible on what has occurred.

Believe it or not, it's very easy to do the above. All you need to say is "I'm [insert YOUR 'Gym screen name here] and I traded with [insert offending party's 'Gym screen name here] but have not received their end of the trade. I sent my [insert your part of the trade here] on [insert the date here] , and [insert name of the offending party here] agreed to send me [insert the offending party's trade here] in return. I haven't got it yet. Their real name and address is [insert the offending party's real name and address here] ."

If you can fill in the blanks, and send it to [email protected] that's all you need to do.

Problem With an iTrader Reference?

-If you receive an iTrader reference and have a problem with it (like it wasn't for you, has a rude remark, you feel is the incorrect rating), use the "report bad rating" icon (the exclamation point "!" in the triangle) to report the problem.

Thanks, Pokégym Staff

For iTrader ratings, in person trades do NOT count. They never have.

Don't force me to come up with a minimum number of miles/kilometers that must seperate you......

New rule added 11/29/09

You must have lost a card, item or something in the trade to leave a negative ref. If not the most you can leave is a neutral ref.
