A Brand New version that is VERY FUN!!

    DARK METAL!!

After some tinkering on App.. here is a little better idea!

    DARK METAL!!

    POKEMON 20

    3 Seedot
    2 Nuzleaf
    3 Shiftry DP1

    3 Magnemite
    2 Magneton
    2 Magnezone

    2 Skitty
    2 Delcatty
    1 Delcatty Ex

    TRAINERS 23

    3 TVR
    3 TGW
    4 Celio’s
    2 Mentor
    2 Castaway
    4 Rare Candy
    4 Windstorm
    1 NIght Maintenance

    ENERGY 17

    4 Dark Metal
    4 Basic Dark
    4 Basic Metal
    4 DRE
    1 Scramble

The Shiftry gives you 2 shots to flip and put an Evolution bakc in hand then you can TGW it into the deck! With the Dark Metal attached, there is no reducing in damage to the Defending and you still get the Free Retreat allowing for the Double flip!! So GL and Have fun!!

    wow... thats actually pretty nice
how about mantine d to get energy back on ur deck so you do a little more damage?

Yeah I know Manitine is the obvious choice here for TTAR, but the space is tight. Magneton PK definitley helps get the D/M Basic back for nrg draw, and then Mantine wold be nice for top deck, but that is almost 4 Bench sitters (Zone is an attacker) so no real spcae for rebuilding! Thanks though! If you can look it over and find a spot.. lmk!

i couldnt help but notice you play castaway with no tools
    wouldnt scott work better?

castaway is to grab a Basic nrg for Energy Draw with Delcatty. Metarule says to get as much as you can so tools arent really needed.

No fear of Ariados? I realize you have Magnezone, and Windstorm for Battle Frontier, but how often will you have a Metal on Tyranitar?

Don't get me wrong... I *love* Magnezone. But isn't there a better Dark partner?

    dark metal KG
it counts as a metal too, that means free retreat

Dark Metal counts for the Metal requirment! I dont fear the Dos....

Weavile is a Better Dark Partner, but the Concept is to show the versatility of cars and how if you look into the colleciton enough, there are those crazy possibilities out there. I dont believe, at least not to my knowledge, I have ever seen a consideration of using Dark/ Metal with Magnezone ot give Dark Type Pokes Free Retreat.... Gives Murkrow/ Honchkrow Swarms a whole new perspective IMHO. Let the Murkrows go while you are building the Magnezone on the Bench then you have that Heavy hitter!!

True TTAR works well with other cards in the format, but it is those untapped ideas that might get a player to look through the binder and see a Combo that might otherwise have gone unnoticed!

and KG I know you have deck skillz, I just like throwiing ideas out there is all! some nOObz might have certain cards and need *something* to get them going! Thanks for the input!!

    I would do this..

    -2 TGW
    -1 Magnemite
    -1 DRE
    -1 Celio's

    +1 Memory Berry
    +1 Mentor
    +1 Scramble
    +2 Bebe's

Just to make it a little more consistent. Galactic's is nice, but in this type of deck where space is needed, maybe it would just be best to drop it. Memory Berry is just so you have a little something to get with castaway, and it works very well with Tyranitar. You can copy Pupitar's attacks if need be which are nice, it's second one preventing damage if heads which is nice if you need to take a risk. Bebe's is there so you can search out Catty easier, and I felt another scramble would have been better, and you can afford to drop a DRE. Just my personal edits, the list looks pretty nice though.

Cool beans, and thanks for the explanation, MrMeches.

Definitely, the Dark Metal idea is excellent if Magnezone can utilize that aspect.

I would run 2-2 baisic and special for you energy because you only have 2 castaway

That is what I was going to say. It keeps your hard hitting pokemon either alive longer or hitting harder, depending on which energy that you use and which pokemon. But, I do see all of the reason for you to have some basics.

Any benefit to adding 1 copy of the CG version of Shrifty Ex considering how many of us are relying on Pokemon with Pokepowers these days?

Thanks Psyco.. will look into that... Stone's actually may not be a bad idea as to help recycle lost nrg!

There could be, but trying t okeep away from the EXes for now... will see about that after a couple of Battle Roads!

TGW stands for Team Galactic's Wager.

Am I missing something with the Shiftry DP1? the text says:

"Once during your turn, (before you attack) if Shiftry is your Active Pokemon, you may flip a coin..."

Where does the "gives you 2 shots to flip and put an Evolution bakc in hand " happen? It's only 1 flip, right?

also, adding a warp point or two seems like it would help as you could take a built up active pokemon (maybe one with some damage) switch it to the bench and then attempt to deevolve, maybe even for knockout. Granted you'd need to bring up a 2nd Shiftry, and maybe that's what you had in mind with the "two flips" assuming you had multiple Shiftry's setup.

if you have two shiftry, you can retreat and try to use the other one's power
hence the usefulness of magnezone giving them free retreat

that is a very nice idea, i must say
