Dealing with Cresselia?

Scizor is unafraid of virtually anything it does, scaring it away with a massively powerful U-Turn or Bug Bite and threatening a huge amount of damage with Pursuit as well.

Tyranitar weathers virtually anything it does without fear and responds with a powerful Crunch. Band or other offensive variants will usually 2HKO, and without reliable recovery, even a 3hko is intimidating. Bisharp and Metagross pose a huge threat as well (though Metagross doesn't possess SE STAB).

Galvantula I don't think is very well-used but it also 2hkos with its Bug Buzz. Chandelure and Volcarona are in similar positions are a little more common.

Something with a huge speed stat and/or Prankster also can easily deal with it via Taunt. Weavile comes to mind.

Excadrill with the ability Sand Rush learns X-Scissor by TM- gives Cressy a world of hurt. Sand Rush doubles Speed in a Sandstorm, giving Excadrill the umph it needs to go first almost every time. Not a lot of people expect Xscissor from Excadrill.

While Scizor is good against it generally, many people expect this and run HP Fire on Cress. Pairing a strong Ground type, or electric attack absorber who take a Hidden Power Fire is a good idea, for scouting for Thunder Wave or HP Fire. Once you know how Cress intends to deal with your Scizor, it becomes a lot easier.

Tyranitar is absolutely the most effective though. If you need an absolute deadset counter, Tyranitar is your Pokemon.

Registeel works well, as long as they don't have Rest. Just use Toxic and you'll be able to absorb anything it throws at you

Moved the thread into here, as it is more of a Strat discussion verses a question like "Where do I find ???? in BW?"

Thank you all for posting... I have played about twenty games against Cresselia and it always goes down to their cresselia and my something else and I am unable to take it out... So thanks again everyone!

Are you looking for Single Battle or Double Battle advice? I'm going to assume doubles.

To deal with Cresselia you need to commit to trying to KO it early or letting it live and working around it. There are very few methods to OHKO Cresselia. Escavalier Bug Gem Megahorn, Heracross Bug Gem Megahorn, Crawdaunt Dark Gem Payback/Crunch and Suicune's Sheer Cold are pretty much your only choices. There are a few two Pokemon combinations that can KO Cresselia. Stuff like Ghost Gem Shadow Ball from Chandelure with Helping Hand support or two Pokemon using Dragon Gem Dragon Pulse and Bug Gem Bug Buzz. Cresselia almost never runs Protect so it frequently has to switch out to survive. The Pokemon that switches in typically get hit pretty hard as well.

Scizor and Tyranitar can KO Cresselia over time with Bug Bite and Crunch respectively. This takes a few turns and your Pokemon may not survive long enough to KO the Cresselia.

Other than that, just beat up on its ally and mob Cresselia at the end.

I have been using a combination of two different teams to figure out what I like more...
