Delaware States Report...

Well, this event was very fun and I enjoyed this a lot. Pizza for lunch was also a very nice treat, which we didn't get at the Penn. State championship.
Anyway, for those of you who are still reading, here is a little of what happened at the Delaware State Championships...

Woke up at 7:30 and left NJ at 8:30 and arrived at 9:30. There were 5 rounds and cut to the top 4, since there was only like 21 people altogther.
Said hello to everyone I know from my league, and met a bunch of new people, then on to round 1-

Oh yea, my deck-
4 Torchic
2 Combusken
3 Blaze
2 Blaze ex
2 Skitty
2 Catty
3 Vulpix
3 Ninetales
4 Sparce
4 TV repo
1 Town V
2 Oak
2 Elm
1 Copycat
2 HPS
2 Warp point
3 Oracle
3 Candy
15 Fire

Okay, Round 1- vs. Water/fighting deck
First of all, I'm sorry that I don't remember most of my opponent's names, I just can't remember them all, though I remember some...
Well, I had a bad start with Vulpix and Torchic against Spheal, who evolved fast. I did 30 damage and she potioned, by then I had a Ninetales with 4 Fire and her Walreign had 10 damage and no bench.
1-0

Round 2-Flygon/Weezing/Magneton
This was the husband of my first match, and once again I had a bad start, with Vulpix and Torchic, well, he got Weezing against Blaze ex, he also had a Magneton on the bench, so I decided to get rid of that, in the meantime he poisoned Blaze. Then I burned him with Blaze Kick, and he confused Blaze. I didn't want to retreat, as I was a little short on energy and pokemon, so I flipped tailes for confusion and Blaze had 140 damage. Burn Ko's Weezing and poison Blaze. Now I've got Torchic with no backup against a Vibrava-soon to be Flygon. He had Chansey ex on the bench, and well, he didn't use it, but Flygon got the rest of my basics...
1-1

Now the PTO, Dorian is telling us she is ordering pizza, and is excited because Nintendo doesn't usually give free lunch, that and my sister won the Penn. States and Exton City Champs which she won, and was happy one of the winners of her past tourneys was here.

Round 3-Grass/Electric deck
He got a magnemite and LPS out, and I got Regular Blaze out very fast, along with HPS, so his magnet didn't last long...Then he had some Roselia who made Blazzy and then Blaze ex fall asleep, and they took awile to wake up, but finally, he had grass, I had fire...and you can guess what happened next.
2-1

Lunch-yay, pizza, and 2 more rounds...

Round 4 vs. BR deck (Dark Tyranitar)
I know Dark Tyranitar from my league and our battles usually last at least 45 mins, but unfortunately, this one lasted exactly 2 turns. I had Dragon Torchic and he had a 40 HP Ruby and Sapphire Torchic. Neither of us had a bench, and I flipped heads for my attack. Later I found out that if I hadn't knocked him out, he would have evolved and.....well it didn't last that long. This was the second time this happened to him, so he switched to Dragon Torchic. Hope next time our battle can last longer! ;)
3-1

Round 5 vs Fire
I played a little kid that had growlithe and an anorith, he tried to attach magma Energy to Anorith, but now he knows to stick with Fighting energy... Well, I don't remember this match too good, but I remember my Torchic lasted a few turns before it was Ko'ed by burn...
4-1

Ok, now cut to the top 4 and I was second in my group by only 8% points...My bro and sis also got in the 11-14 top 4-good job to them!

Game 1-These were best 2/3 and we started, with me, and Dave from my league, a Gardy player and Dark T-tar.

Game 1- Me vs. Dave (Typhlosion ex)
We played in a tourney last week and he won a game and then I won, so when time ran out we tied, so this top 4 match was like a rematch..

Game 1- Well I changed my strategy and did not stall, because last week I got set up, and waited for him to get started, that was a bad idea since his Typhlosions could rechage better since they only use 1 energy with their attack, so I powered Ninetales for Ty and Blaze ex was stricktly for his Blazikens on the bench when he had an active Wobby. Finally I warp pointed and he sent up Wobby, and I sent up a niney and HPS was in play, powered up Blaze ex and retreated to KO a benched poke for the win.

Game 2- This one didn't last long it was my torchic that burned from Ruby and Sapphire-(I only have 1 in the deck, the other 3 are dragons) He was burned a couple times, then I evolved to Combusken and did Flare for 20 and KO'ed his only Torchic.

Now on to the final games
Me vs. Gardy/ex/Muk ex deck
Game 1-This was the person who was first in the swiss rounds, and now it was just me and her.
I had perfect starts both games and I needed both Blaze ex and Ninetales to KO her Gardy and Muk ex's. Ninetales actually did more work than Bex. SO 1st game was mine.

Game 2-I got a fast start, but waited because I didn't want to send up Ninetales and have a possible Gardy attack. So I keep up Sparce, who gets me like 4 heads in a row, then a tails, and another 4-5 heads in a row. So I wait for her to have Gardy/ex/2 Muks/and a Wynaut with 40 damage. Nintales and Bex each get 2 prizes for the Muks. The Niney got Gardy, and then I powered a reguar Blaze and attacked her active Gardy ex, and KO'ed her benched Wynaut for the win.

So, I get a box, a trophy, and 12 more packs for winning a side booster draft. Now I just need Raikou ex to complete my Aqua-Magma set.

Oh yea, and as for my brother and sister, my brother lost the first round of the top 4 and got a bunch of packs, and of course, my sister outdoes me by winning the trophy in the 11-14 age division, and has 2 state trophys.....

This was a really fun day and I can't wait for another event like this.

Props-
Dorian, for holding a fun tourney
Nintendo and their free pizza and cool prizes for winning the tourney
My brother and sister for doing good
my friends from my league, this was a really fun day,
and to all of the new friends I made in Delaware

Slops-
Me for forgetting almost all of my opponent's names
and my sister for outdoing me again......j/k ;)

Thanks for reading!:)

Hey Goroy,

Congrats on winning your FIRST State Championship! You played very well!

Also, congrats go out to your sister, who once again dominated the middle age group!

You-guys done well!

Thanks everyone!

Dark T-tar: You did good too, the Muk ex's aren't that easy to get around, I couldn't Firestarter-I was unsure if I could do it for a little while there.
Good job to Anthy too, I thought he was going to beat Blair, Rayquaza usually dominates Gardy.
See you at league!

Evan, good job man! I would have gone but my little bro had his first communion that day, so we couldn't go. I'll see you at Gym Challenge! I am unleashing Aqua Pwnage there, so look out! I am guaranteeing to win the tourny.

Hey Goroy!

Thanks! The problem with that Muk EX deck wasn't it shut down my power. (This never caused any difficulties with my Poke-powers, since the Muk EX only came out to play once during that final two-game elimination, and then only towards the end of that game).

The problem was that the deck stalled out a bit, along with it needing some addition energy cards to help kick it off at the beginning. I'm trying to squeeze 2 more Fire energy cards in, along with 2 Prof. Oak's Research. The problem, though is what to take out.

In addition, I think Anthony's deck had the same types of problems. Soooo, whatever I do to mine to beef it up in these areas I'll probably do the same to Anthony's,

With respect to him, I was very pleased with his outcome, even though he succumbed to the power of your sister's Gardy/Gardy EX deck.

See ya (maybe) this Saturday.

See ya (maybe) this Saturday at the league.
