Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

DF deck boxes have not arrived

I agree that the boxes could be sent with player rewards since they will already have all the info on who attended. This really worked for the regionals pins in the past. :).

POP has no choice but the reject the shipment and have the items destroyed. It would be bad business to let it be known that you company accepts less than perfect service from your manufacturer.

It would likely be VERY expensive to ship deckboxes as part of player rewards. It's one thing to ship something flat (POP packs, or coins) and quite another to ship something 3-D and crushable. You'd need different packaging...padded envelope, at the least, if not a box...

Remember, just because people have a POP number does NOT necessarily mean that 1) they have a My Pokemon account and 2) that POP has their address. The older version of the POP card app only collects name, DOB and city/state; not a physical address...

Well I think the rerason people want deck boxes is becuase they acually got good. LM and HP where too small but the CG one not only had cool atrwork but were big enough to hold a deck.

I prefered the LM and HP ones. They were just the right size for a sleeved 60 card deck. Personally that's all I want in my deck box, a deck. Not other cards or coins or something. Eh, just my 2¢.

The boxes shouldn't be destroyed. Way to be wasteful. Why not mail them to PTOs during the next tournament's shipment and have them distribute the boxes. Most players frequent one area for a tournament so most would get the boxes the next time they see the PTO.

Man that is really sad. Well i started whit the prerelease of CG. I loved the deckboxes because i diden't had deckboxes. I really was hoping for the boxes. I understand that they must reject the boxes. I will understand that the PTO says there are no deckboxes this time because of a error in china. So all we have to do at te Pre is to have fun. A deckbox buying at your local store is not that expensive ;).

Anyhow if they get destroyed i would love to get my hands on some that dident say hi to tha little big crusher :D

that sucks i really had my hopes up for the new deck box... like someone posted earlier cant you just send everyone who attends the prerelease there deck boxes, you will have everyones pop id# after all ..??..??

The PTOs have been told that the boxes will not be available at all. I believe the shipment will most likely be refused and destroyed. It makes us sad too, but with the short notice PUI had on this problem, there was nothing that could be done. You need to come to grips with the fact that you won't have deck boxes for the DF set. :frown:

First there wasn't going to be any prizes for placing, now NO DECK BOXES!!!

Come on BDS now you have to give us some extra prizes:thumb:

The decision to bring our procedures in line with the PUI guidance by eliminating extra prizes was a decision we made locally. The deck boxes not getting here was something totally outside our control. The only thing that those two things have in common is that they will both happen.

Nice Try.

I am just staying, still the attendance will decrease which would be mean you won't get as much money.
Thanks for your concern. The point you seem to be missing is that MOST PTOs do not add extra prizes. We, the PTOs, need to be consistent in the way we structure tournaments. What you do get in the Oregon tournaments that you don't get everywhere is a Game Boy tournament and giveaways between each round. Some PTOs add other things, but the "extras" are not changing the structure of the main event like extra prizes did. The extra prizes are gone forever. Do your grieving and move on.

Please don't have them destroyed, a lot of us really like the deckboxes and it'd be a horrible shame, ship them with player rewards or something please!

Though BDS is right, whining won't fix much, and I also don't like people griping about losing the extra prizes. If maybe they took away the between rounds prizes or the game boy tournament, then i'd start a riot of some sort, but, for the most part, we get lots of free stuff, more than 20$ on average, so I love the events. The deckboxes were great, but, we'll be getting something new, something new to start us out fresh with the diamond/pearl pre-releases. We arn't getting less (except this time around, yes) we're just getting different stuff.

Still, I sure like deckboxes.

Who's on this deckbox we're not getting anyway? so if some don't get destroyed and like mistakenly end up on ebay or something, i know what to look for.

For those that really want a deck box, how bad do you really want it? If POP went ahead & accepted the shipment would you be willing to buy it? I doubt it. What if the charge was $4 or $5 each? How bad do you really want it then. Or do you really want it because it's "suppose" to be part of your entry fee?

I think people want the deck boxes for various reasons. Some really like them, and put their decks in them. Some feel just like old man said, that the deck boxes are "part of the entry fee". Some just like to get and collect the tcg memorabilia.

I don't think Nintendo has to destroy them. So what if they are late, couldn't they just hold onto them and give them away later? How much money do they lose if they destroy them?

I used to feel the deck box was worth the 2 extra packs, but I don't feel that way anymore. Not because of this incident, but this incident does show what kind of problems could arrise and how it's easier to just give out 4 extra packs at the end than 2 packs and something special shipped from china/japan.

The deck boxes are super cool, so are the card folders, and the shirts, and the card boxes (rayquaza, etc). They have value and people want them, but they can be given/sold away in a different way without having to impair the already given out prizes of a tournament. There are many good ideas out there. It just takes Nintendo running with an idea to really see the consequences of the idea.
