The first Diamond and Pearl related rulings (after the FAQ) are up in the Compendium EX!
* HOLD THE PRESSES (too late!) *
You may well ask what Diamond and Pearl rulings are doing in the Compendium EX, but we'll have more news related to that question in the coming weeks. Meantime, you'll find Diamond and Pearl rulings printed in RED. For those of you who will be getting Diamond and Pearl soon, think of this red color as a highlight. For those who won't get them until Worlds, think of this color as a stop sign!
This weeks rulings compliment the Pre-Release FAQ.
Starting the Game - not so fast
If you win the flip, and go first, you DO draw a card, but you can't play any:
Elm and Celio - trip on the translations
Lv.X Pokémon are NOT evolutions, so you can't search for them with Professor Elms Training Method, even though your Lv.X may be attached to an evolved Pokémon.
* THIS RULING IS NOW CALLED INTO QUESTION *
Celio's Network is a card that got caught in the Japanese to English transdimensional linguistic time-space barrier-thingy.
Although older cards that say "Basic Pokémon or Evolution" are treated as though they said "Pokemon", Celio is an exception. Why? Ooh, this is tough to follow.
* THE ABOVE RULING HAS BEEN CALLED INTO QUESTION *
For more information on the dispute, check out Bangiras' research here ( http://pokegym.net/forums/showpost.php?p=836672&postcount=37 ), here ( http://pokegym.net/forums/showpost.php?p=836701&postcount=40 ) and here ( http://pokegym.net/forums/showpost.php?p=836761&postcount=43 ). A very nice bit of research! - PokePop
And more...
So, Meteor Falls when a Lv.X is in play, can you still use the attacks from the Basic and Stage one?
The new Diamond and Pearl cards, when their attack or effect text says "trainer" what does it mean?
Find the answers in the Compendium EX!!

- Any EX series or older card using just the "Basic Pokémon or Evolution" phrase, actually says "Pokemon" in Japanese. So, these older cards are interpreted that way under Diamond and Pearl rules.
- Any older card with a restriction attached to the "Basic Pokémon or Evolution" phrase, such as "excluding ex", refers explicitly to Basics or Evolutions in Japanese.
