Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Did G&G survive in today's Battle Roads?

Base on what I have read and have heard, GG/Plox has lost some of it's steam. A lot of new decks are able to play Crystal Beach which completely cripples GG/Plox. I feel you may see that both Magmortar (Too Much Water) and GG/Plox (Too Much Beach) become played less. I expect Magmortar to not be played, and I expect GG/Plox to see a lot less play. This format is Intersting in the fact that there seems to be so many decks because of this new set that decks that did rein supreme arent as far ahead as before IMO.

Tell that to the people here in Oregon.

I think it's sad when people are still using G&G/PLOX in these Battle Roads. When BR's are worth so few points and will not make a difference as to whether someone will get to worlds, why would people not bother to try out something new. MD is a great new set, with a lot of cards that could change the metagame. When I read some of the reports from the weekend is was dissipointed to see how often G&G/PLOX got used. I really hope that as the next 3 weekends go by that I see a lot less of those decks being used. I encourage Pokemon players to use their brains to think of something different instead of using the same old deck to win a tournament that has little-to-no meaning.

Battle Roads aren't an accurate gauge for GG's effectiveness. A new set just came out, so obviously very few ppl are going to play it when they can test out a new deck and not worry about rating. At my BR on Sunday, 2 ppl out of 16 in my division played GG, and neither of them made top (not very good players, though).

Nats will be the test of whether or not GG is still BDIF. It obviously won't win, just because ppl that win big events almost never use net decks, but going into Worlds it will be good to know whether or not ppl need to test against it.

G&G IS still a strong choice...And it will be until some deck finds a way to beat it consistently. This decks has survived konstant chase from all kinds of rouges the last long period , but it has survived on konsistency and sheer lvl. of power don't underestimate the deck it will win more tournaments and it will be played at worlds.

I won with mag while facing 3 water decks that were very hard to play against!

Did not win Masters or Seniors or Juniors in Eureka, MO, which was the home of the faithful GG decks.

Ditto for Dallas

Oh but it does make a difference for a handful of players right now. It could make or break them. But to the rest you are right its a great time to experiment.

I agree with you. With the possible rotation of delcatty, definite rotation of delcatty ex, possible rotation of steven advice (a lot of people i know who play mag. rely on stevens for draw power) and firestarter blaziken then magmortar will definitely not see play for another season.

GG/Plox, i'm not so sure. Its still popular in some areas, but with Majestic Dawn and at least 3 good decks coming out with it, G&G/Plox might see some less play. In my opinion i think its going to die down a little bit, and with the possible departure of DRE and scramble next season, then G&G/Plox will see some less play, definitely. But, next season, i expect to see at least some play.

Absol/cessation wrecks the format right now and is faster than most stuff since you dont rely on powers

4 all we know people r jus playtesting different versions 2 experiment. Anyway, I expect 2 c the same stuff. GG will find a way, but Mag 2 me is getting real close 2 the grave.
