Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

DP-on | Decks after rotation.

Why are y'all talking about "The new ATM ROCK" ATM Rock was infinitely better as what we're getting now. We have Omastar anyway.
Also, why does everyone forget about Vileplume? Poison+Sleep for a simple Multi Energy? The possibility to completely lock EVERY kind of trainer with an attack? The abilit to do 100 for 2 with Bellossom?

I was considering Vileplume, the large possibilities that it brings are quite amusing. I sense some Weezing being played with it too.

Considering Kingdra is flushing out fire, its definitely not out of the question. You could run Plume/Bell with a lot of different things.

My goodness, I completely forgot about Cradily too. Another nasty little bugger. This next set promises large amounts of diversity where the last few sets have failed.

I dont see Cradily as being too good myself. No, when it comes to new Grassers, its Vileplume that takes the cake for me. The new Victreebell looks pretty promising as well, but I probably prefer Vileplume, just for that tech Bellossom.
However, I do think it'll lose to AMU while it can beat out Kingdra. This might cause a funny Rock-Paper-Scissors situation...

Pokemon: 18
4-2-3-1 Magnezone X
3-3 Electivire SW
2-2 Claydol

Trainers: 18
4 Rare Candy
4 Bubble Coat
2 Night Maintenance
4 Roseanne's Research
4 Bebe's search

Energy: 16
6 Lightning
10 Metal

I think the other 8 cards would be a mix of warp points and/or a metagross tech. Warp points to stop Glaceon X, Metagross for his ability to be a gust of WIN...

Of course ATM Rock was better, but in no way can you say that the new TM is even 'mediocre' . The card is amazing, and with so many spread options already in the format? It's so easy to abuse it.

DP-On:

http://pokegym.net/forums/showthread.php?t=74596

After the rotation of a number of key cards like DRE/Scramble, Celio/Stevens etc are all gone and will change the format quite alot.

G&G will deteriorate alot due to the loss of DRE.

Garchomp I feel will probably be the next BDIF due to DRE/Scramble going out, crystal shard and battle frontier are gone. 110 for 3 energy, but set up may be it's downfall, Garchomp/Claydol/Togekiss?

Magmortar will do much better (although suffer slightly from the loss of Scramble) but if run with Togekiss that shouldn't be a problem.

Empoleon MD? Does it need scramble that much? I dunno. T2 Chatot retreat for Empo MD 2 energies spread 30dmg to 2 pokemon would be amazing, adding Omastar only makes it more devastating. Will it mean Magmortar dies a horrible death?

Lots of decks abusing great starters, Pachi, Phione, Absol and i think with a free setup attack and free retreat Chatot will be massive. Although the new Jirachi will be just as good.

Leafeon lvl x + ??? - no doubt that without DRE/Sramble, energy acceleration will be much more usefull. But what to run it with? Sceppy? Eveelutions?

Glaceon lvl.x + ??? - Stopping Claydol / Togekiss / Omastar will be huge.

Fossils, T2 Kabutops? Without DRE you wont be attacking, but by T3 you'll be stopping rare candies and spreading like wildfire (aslong as you can spread to the bench with Zapdos) or maybe Garchomp lvl.x (spreads damage to bench with power) then restore on a Kabutops and go crazy. Weakness to Leafeon won't help though. Aerodactyl to stop Claydol? Omastar to devolve after damage spread?

Claydol will be probably the most used card for set up in nearly all decks.

Will more bench space be needed this format? As a dusknoir tech may become even more deadly.

Will the format go back to how it was not long ago with Stage 1 decks dominating: Lucario / Blissey / Krikky / Bannette? Or the new Froslass?

Thoughts / views?
most of the cards you just named will be released in later sets & the others like dre & stuff they said 2 many use them & abuse there propes so they r going 2 just leave them & make new cards like them just not as good. because they dont want us useing the same cards/strat because if we do all the time then you always win so they just putting a stop 2 that part & you realy cant blam them because seeing the same deck or even playing the same deck over & over again gets real boring

corrosion, you only put 4 deoxys in your decks, not 12. this is illegal. Not matter the form of deoxys, he has the same name.
Put 1 normal, 2 attack and 1 defense deoxys and a line of mightyena for counter pixies (or fetuses) and mewtwo lv x.

the decks:

~Kingdra Yeah probaly going to be the major archetype and most played deck
~UMA(rich kids eat it up) Same as kingdra
~Froslass variants Decent card
~Glaceon won't be used that much
~Blissey/Leafeon Probaly not with blissey but leaf will be played a lot
~Tentacruel/Lanturn(eats Kingdra alive.) Wrong. Kindra doesn't need it's first attack to win.
~Spread decks (poleon, bronzong, etc.) Yeah spread is going to be a major because there are so many of them.
~Chomp Doesn't lose much
~GG 2 da suck Loses speed but nothing else.
~Fossilz Armaldo may be good and omastar will be used too but everything else is bad.
~Magnezone Maybe
~Rhyperior Maybe
~Skittles with the right list yeah really good
~RockBand Yeah probaly good

.

Heres what I think.

Actually, they list the form just like Wormadam and Burmy. I don't think it would be limited to 4 total, since they are differently named cards.

We are just getting used to playing DP on.

You can't expect to know every great deck at the beginning of a new rotation?
For all we know Electivire might make a comeback....

So what's the deal with this new Bellossom? Does it count itself for the second attack, doing 60 for 2? I'd certainly hope so...it seems like it could be a pretty awesome deck since we have all these new amazing trainers coming in. PokeRadar could possibly set you up completely. And Starmie + grass Gloom 2 hits a Claydol on the bench

Meet the new GG...Grass Guys. MWAHAHAHAHA

really yoshy??? thats great. and corrosion, I insist in the mightyena line.

i'm sorry but i dont think the mightyena is that good

plus it would require dark energies in the deck

also the deoxys would have a higher hp than mightyena due to the snowpoint stadium

yes, but his basicks can attack mightyena

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

errata: is can't no can

There will be a lot of counters for the new decks from sets like DP1 or DP3. AMU can easily be beaten by Banette, Kingdra will be beaten by a pokemon like Luxray or Electivire. Rypherioir will be beaten by Empoleon or even Floatzel. So far, People are running AMU with Dusknoir, Darkrai/Weavile beats the deck. Scizor will probably be a big hit sometime this year since people will be running these "Multi Energys" When this set comes out, Got to find a quick counter for AMU and Kingdra quick before anything else out there.

Seriously, i'm thinking of Kingdra, Milotic right now; marvel scale is going to be too good to pass up, it blocks God Blast, Magnezone's little Paralysis trick, any damage from an any lvl X's at all...I'll see you guys at worlds.

Omg, I have never thought of that. That's a really good strategy

The Paralysis trick isn't always required in a Magnezone deck, free retreat allows the other guys to attack too, y'know.

Banette won't be able to move as quickly without Ascension being around, but it could still be a notable dude.

From what I'm seeing, next meta will be very versatile with no one deck being better than the others, though Vileplume/Bell reminds me of a psuedo GG.

Ok ready for this... Mono eevee decks. some friends and I were discussing what would be a great and overpowering deck in an up-and-coming format for pokemon tcg and my idea is just too great.

The deck runs only 1 basic pokemon, Eevee

Yeah? Yeah? Pretty smart huh? It would probably have to be that MD one with the Gnaw and Sand attack.

Yeah now just wait for the ownage over the opponent as they lose...

But seriously the deck was actually mono swablu. You just find a way to rig your coin/die and you just keep using it's attack as the opponent decks out. :p

Ok fine but the eevee deck is very possible... or mono relicanth to search out fossils then pwn w/ kabutopz
