DS tournament at Nationals - STATUS GO! SIGN UP ALL!!!

Question for you.....

With the Diamond and Pearl there is a great deal of trading availability....

Are Japanese Pokemon with Japanese OT's from the GTS in Diamond and Pearl allowed?

if they weren't, i wouldnt play in the tournament. my emerald data got deleted before i could get my pokemon from pal park, so most of the pokemon on my team right now are from GTS
 
Foreign Pokemon are allowed, BUT you must be able to give me the stats and abilitys of them, along with moveset.

My son has been working on his Diamond game, training, learning, trading, etc. He's been having lots of fun with it. Not ready for a finalzied team yet, but it's coming along.

Also, have to spend some time on TCG, especially after PR start this weeend.
 
Sign me up for it but if i end up buzy that friday night which is undecided thanks to origins events not up i may drop. I have a few lev 100 pokemon from this new game that might wanta get into the fun so i wanta shot at it :)

I am sorry to rain on your parade here, but you are making some incorrect assumptions. You do not get to run a tournament in the Origins tournament hall without the permission of the company that has rented the space. You cannot just grab some tables and start a tournament.

POP may or may not have extra space available at the time you are proposing. Due to liability issues I am doubtful that we would grant permission to run a side tournament to someone not on staff. Other game companies are unlikely to want to give extra space to anyone promoting Pokémon.

In addition you seem to be ignoring the fees due to Origins for running a tournament. Each tournament run in the hall owes Origins a fee per each player. Pokémon tournaments are free because POP picks up that cost. I am sorry but we are just not willing to do that for your DS tournament, you would have to get permission directly from Origins and pay them for the privilege.

Hm, thats a nice curveball there Pete. Thank you for the well ADVANCED knowledge for this. For right now, If there is still interest please post here. I will try to work something out. Worst case for now is a cancelation of this. I will still try to hold this event, but it may not be able to be held at the Nationals space. Pete, If there would be any issue doing this OUTSIDE of Origins, please let me know, since I have players who want to do this. I do apologize for this, and did not realize I needed permission for this, since at worlds we have had "outside" tournaments, but I do see the big difference here, this being a convention, and worlds just being pokemon and not having to pay a per head fee. Once again, I am sorry Pete and please let me know asap.
 
Just a non-official suggestion;

Origins has several open play areas. I'd talk to the info desk when you get there and find out where they are. You might be able to hold your tournament there. I don't know how they'll feel about your "entry fee" so you may want to ask about that as well.
 
ok, Mike, how about if i drop the entry fee of the pack and make it completely free?

Other than that, I think i can now set the status to GO!
