Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Editable decklist files

Someone PM'ed me about doing this up in Excel. That got me to thinking about doing the summation function in Word (to count the cards). Sure enough, Word does support this with a few mouse clicks. But, strangely enough, if there are any blank cells in any of the rows being summed, the total will be zero. Ugh. So I can certainly add card counts to the Word version, but then you gotta type 0 in the card count column of all the rows that don't have cards. Grrrr.

Or, if someone knows all that VB scripting stuff that I am still refusing to learn, then I have no doubt we can add some custom logic to add things up properly in the Word doc. Any takers?

But most people will not be able to save their editted decklist to disk.
I stil cant save it with this special new pdf you made. Is there a way to be able to save it? and not have to cough up some money to Adobe.

Why would POP make a list thing you cant edit so that it can be saved?

it's still nice to have this thng you made thanks.

No, the PDF is not going to be saveable. The Word doc is. The only thing you're giving up with the Word version is the auto counter thingie. For me, when typing up the decklist, I pretty much already know how the deck is laid out, so the counter doesn't buy me much. Still would be nice to have in the Word file. I'm just too lazy (and too time poor) to put any effort into the necesary VB junk.

can a version be made for the battle roads ones which are the most accurate per the DP rules?
and can it also be made in word since 99% of the people here choose not to purchase acrobat? =\

what goes in the special and basic boxes in the energy section. checkmarks? yes and no? numbers?

I'll accept anything as long as its only in Basic or Special. I was asked that question quite a few times, a check, Y, Yes, X, anything will work

Good question... You can tell we're not actually using the decklist ourselves yet (maybe this weekend!) because I didn't even notice those columns. :) I've updated the list to include samples. Thanks.

to whom it may concern they forgot to put Master Ball in the trainer section, and there are 2 Poke Balls

twdorris : thanks for hosting the files. I've updated it to ver 1-5. (now i know how microsoft feels. heh) It now contains ALL the trainers. Please put it on your first post. and thanks again. Since this is a sticky, perhaps I can just send you a link to the file, and you can post it up here. No point having multiple threads. Can you pm me your email.

I will make one for states using my excel file . . . however, I think there will be another set released before that? so it's a little premature. I will also update it to look 100% like the official pokemon decklist.

PM sent.

At that point, the Word version may have no purpose anymore then. I guess maybe some people have Word but not Excel? Maybe that's an advantage. I dunno.

Now I'm curious...is there a way to make the Word version more like the Excel version... Hmmm... That would be seriously pushing my MSWord knowledge. LOL

Thomas Dorris

that's pushing my word knowledge too :) It was a bit of a stretch for me to get excel to do this. There is also a link on my thread to a free excel viewer from microsoft which will allow you do make use of the decklist maker without paying for excel.

That viewer appears to open the file in read-only mode. Am I doing something wrong? It doesn't allow drop down box selections or typing over the name/birthday type fields.

I'm sorry, you're right. I think because I have excel installed, that even when I use the xlviewer, I can access the drop down lists, and such.

I found this

http://www.openoffice.org/

It's quite a big download . . . around 106MB . . . so only broadband-friendly. But, it's compatible with microsoft office products. I have tested it, and it does open the deckmaker properly with all the dropdown lists, typing in the name, saving, etc..

i originally thought to do it in word, because i had downloaded your word file. But as i got into it, It seemed that excel was more logical, because of the counters, and mostly, the other worksheets which allowed you to click through to card pictures, and, well, I couldn't figure out how to do drop down lists in word.

oh, and btw, maybe 100% like official pokemon decklists is setting the goal too high. let's say 98%.
