Man what a weekend this was. Making new friends. Getting familiar with old friends. Just having an all around good time and battling with trainers from all over the world. Look out Pokegym. Eeveetrainers Tournament report starts...right now.
So after much playtesting and trying to pick a deck to play with I finally settled on my psychic beauty, Gardy. Let the games begin.
Round 1 vs Swampert
My first round of the day and I had to say that I was nervous but anxious which was really making for this odd feeling. He wins the toss and takes first turn so we draw and he starts with Sparce and I have Wynaut and Ralts. Not a bad opening. My hand has Wobby and A rare candy among things like TV reporter and Stevens advice. He pulls a a few mudkips with strike and having face swampert a few times I knew how to do this. Turn after turn went by as Wobby took down a Mudkip and a Dunsparce before Swampert showed him off the field. Gardy EX Took the field knocking down the Swampert with ease. Another swampert, Sleep and Failed to awaken. Next turn I play out as much as I can to try for a A switch with Stevens...nothing. I pass and wake up only to return to sleep and failing to awaken again. Still no switch but a Moo Moo Milk so I play it and remove 20 pass and remain asleep from another tails. Attack again and I'm up to 130 damage. Flip and I'm up at last. Ok now it's time and gardy is not happy. A few Psyshadows to the bench and Gardy EX with a boost ends the Swampert. His marshtomp comes to injure and defeat my Poor GardEX. Prizes are 2-3 in favor of me now.Course I'm pretty heavily Damaged now So I Send up Wynaut And Smile for a Wobby. He evolves into Swampert and KOs the Wynaut. Enter Gardy with 4 Energy. Pull a ralts and bench it and teh Wobby. Nav For a Krilia and Evolve the one Ralts already on the bench. KO the Swampert and pull Rare candy from my prize...the game was mine. His Swampert KOs my Gardy. Send up Krilia. Elm for a GardyEX Rare candy the Ralts to Gardy, Evolve to Gard EX Psyshadow and boost for the win.
He was really a nice player though kinda quiet. German from what I could grasp. One of my best games in a while.
Round 2 Vs. Jumpluff/Gorebyss
Now this is one of the decks that interested me alot. Problem is that I spent so much time talking with my opponent about other things that I don't actually remember the whole match ^^. After some bad flips on his part Wobby and Gardy came out and took the game for me. the jumpluff idea was really great and his deck was pretty solid, just really bad flips if you as me.
Round 3 vs. ??? Rogue Deck
I have no Idea what this was really but I blame myself for not seeing it till too late. Turn 2 Espeon with a Strength charm kills my only Wynaut from me Trying for a quick kill by a Wobby boost.
Round 4 vs. Crobat/Gorebyss
Don't even get me started on this one. I should have won this game and I'm not even sure why. He dropped an early Ancient Tomb and I couldn't pull my Magnetic stadium till I was already too far behind to catch up. Not to mention I couldn't seem to pull a GardyEX the whole game and I just basically got owned.
Round 5 Vs Sceptile EX
I discovered that SOMEHOW I lost a wynaut in the transition of shuffling around. Judges however didn't toss me out just allowed me to place an energy in his stay since I couldn't find out what it was. After a few minutes of Resleeving a whole deck >.>, we were ready to go. He has nothing but a Treeko and I have Wynaut and Ralts. I thought I could win it Since I had a Rare Candy in my hand, Smile for Gardy and he Evolves....ok no big I'll get him in 2 hits. He Drops Wynaut and I Rare Candy for gardy. Shaddow and boost for 60. I figure it's in the bag...Sceptile EX...POison ring and I pull no basic...end of game.
Round 6 Vs. Gorbyss.
Having Faced that lousy Fish all day I knew just what to do. This matchup wasn't pretty as Gardy came with his bigger relative Gardy EX and just stomped the world but my deck wound up slowing out and hitting a brick wall someplace so I wound up winning it on time. Not how I like to win. I feel that it's cheep >.>.
Round 7 Vs. Metagross
This was actually not a problem. fast Gardys and Magnetic Stadium really early made this game nothing to me. Not to mention he had bad luck on the flips. (1-12 I think). Nothing to eventful and groundbreaking here.
So my day ends at 4-3 and really that's not a bad record for a worlds level even I think. Once again congratulations to all the players at worlds and especially to the Top 16 and so on. You guys all played really awsome games. Let's keep up all the hard work and really make next years worlds just as strong an event.
BTW nintendo, You know you REALLY want to run worlds in NJ right ?
