European Worlds Rating Invites 2009 - Countdown to June 7th!

I haven't heard any requests for a rating thread for Europe like last year, but I have the afternoon off so I decided to make one ;)

Like last year, I'll list the top 20 players for each age group that will receive a ranking invite according to my information, and mark the players whose invite will pass down in bold and with an asterisk. These are players who either have invites from Worlds 2008 or Nationals 2009.

If you have any corrections, please let me know!

first of all thanks very much for this thread.... you are certainly one great person... and yes it would be a great help to those that are concern with this certainly

Cheers

Thanks, I forgot to make Lukas' name bold, but I did include him in the invite list. It's fixed now :)

This weekend should shake things up a lot with Norwegian, Finnish and German Nationals :)

Anna,
many Italians BR that we did run in April-May still are not tagged as Premier Event (and I don't know why).
These tournaments were small events, so the ranking is not right but because a low kvalue I don't think there will be revelant changes.

LOL, that's exactly the same as last year, when it was Italy and Norway who had unreported Battle Roads ;)

I'll wait and see if they're fixed, thanks for letting me know! :)

Finnish Spring BRs are still showing as unsanctioned tournaments, so they too may affect the rankings a bit when taken into account (Tomi S. 5-1, Tia T. 4-2, Jouni L. 5-2 in masters in a recent BR).

Norway lacks two Cities uploads too. I had problems with the files, but will finally be able to look at them in detail now that Nationals is over. (After I've slept for a few days, of course ...)

Even though Norway, Germany and Finland Nats haven't been updated/uploaded yet, I redid the list.

I don't have all invite winners from all Nationals though, so possibly there are more pass downs.

Anna, all Italian BRs are now tagged as PE.
Still remain 4 tournaments to upload. Wait 1-2 days to see the updated ranking.
However, there will be no revelant change.
It's better to wait for the Norway, Germany and Finland upload to see what will happen.
Just a question. We have a junior player that got 3rd place at Worlds 2008. If he win our NC does the invite pass down as Italy (5th place) or does it affect only the European ranking?

Edit.. Norway has been uploaded

Worlds invites given out at Norway Nationals:

1st: Shazhebb M
2nd: Emil Vestre
3rd: Syver S
4th: Deeq M

Senior:
1st: David J
2nd: Jon Oscar N
3rd: Tord R
4th: Eirik

Master:
1st: Willy Cun
2nd: Kim Erik Eriksen
4th: Mikkel Lindheim
5th: Linnea Vestre

3rd was Khanh Le, who already has an invite due to his 2nd place finish at Worlds 2008.

This is what I've heard happened in Denmark/Finland before, with From and Roos. Maybe someone can confirm this?

We've had this happen in 2007 in the Netherlands. Arnoud v B had a trip from Worlds 2006, and his trip + invite passed down to second place. This was confirmed to me by Dave Schwimmer at the time.

However, that concerned 1st and 2nd place (and a trip). I'm not sure if this is what would happen with 3rd or 4th place, if it would pass down to 4th or 5th place. I'd say yes (because invites can't just 'disappear'), but if you want to be certain, you'd best email POP about it.

I'll update the post with Norwegian rankings as soon as I find the time :)
