Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

ff13 ON THE XBOX 360 Square Enix=SELLOUT

...Or they might just use some ancient piece of technology. Such as multiple disks.

Yay for Mistwalker! They use multiple disks on their masterpiece games. XD

I came to the conclusion that I don't understand how anyone can POSSIBLY be angry that a video game is coming out for another system.

One word. Fanboyism. Its a plague that needs to end.

I'm not sure I see why ANYONE thinks this is a problem. The Xbox version of the game is going to lack at least some amount of content, with the whole FFXIII:Versus thing on PS3. If both systems are getting it, who cares? This means more people are playing the game, and more likelyhood that Square will release more titles.

So why is the OP mad about Sony?

I highly doubt they'll remove any amount of content from the same exact game just because of the 13-Versus game. If that were the case, then the original package before the port was announced would have lost content, no?

I mean, theres still the Wii XIII game to think about as well, and I doubt that'll remove any content from the main games at all.

They said that XIII:Versus will be a different game and be PS3 only, while the actual XIII will be identical between the two systems.

Oh, and YAY! The reasons for me to get a PS3 are once again down to a single one (Disgaea 3), and I will not shell out $460 so I can play one game. Then again, I still need to finish FFX and start FFVII and FFXII, so maybe I should deal with those two first. :x I still wouldn't turn down a PS3 if I stumbled upon one, but there never has been and continues to not be any conceivable chance that I'll buy one. Remember when Motorstorm was their touted killer app? Ah, good times...

Oh, and FFTA2 is awesome. I don't mind at all not being at to use the stylus (yeah, I know you can, but it's way more trouble than it's worth and totally unnecessary), and I for one like that they used the same graphics for the sprites. My only complaint is that the unit info and equipment screens are a little more argh than in FFTA, but it's not like it's a huge problem or anything.

Maybe I should rephrase? If I owned a PS3, what reason would I have to be angry that the game's going to be on Xbox360 ALSO?

Nobody was going to buy a PS3 JUST for this game, and PS3 owners don't lose anything.

Is this like...going to put Sony totally out of business or something, I don't GET IT.

One of the big issues with Sony is that they're really lacking any form of really stunning games that aren't ports aside from Metal Gear Solid 4 and Resident Evil 5 (though if Capcom sticks to tradition, that'll end up being ported eventually too)

Its more the fact that Sony is seriously disappointing its fanbase, and losing another big name like FFXIII to the port market hurts them even more.

It would be just like this if tomorrow Konami announced that MGS4 was getting a Wii and a 360 port.

Sony's not losing anything in theory. The problem is they just gave Microsoft that something additional to keep their sales well above Sony's. Which technically means Sony just lost any momentum they gained off of MGS4, which since Microsoft is getting Gears of War 2 soon will put Sony right back to square one.

Actually resident evil 5 is going to be on X360 too.
And besides sony still has some big titles coming exclusivley on PS3, like resistance 2, god of war 3, tekken 6, little big planet, gran turismu 5 and more. FF13 versus seems pretty sweet too, however we'll have to wait for that.

And sony still has MGS4 which can beat almost any game thrown at it.

Console wars are serious business.

Not to mention pretty stupid.

BTW, about the deleted content, if anything. Since the PS3 version is finishing first, the 360 version that comes out later might have even more content, that's usually the case with any rerelease on a different console.

Out of all the 3rd Party Companies, Square-Enix is one of the few that can pick and choose where and when they release a game. First off, Nintendo players have more to be mad about that anybody else. Square used to make games for ONLY them. When the N64/PSX they jumped ship because they didn't like the carts. However, here is a prime example of Nintendo getting the shaft. They could easily of released the game on ALL 3 systems. They could of used the GC controller to play the game if they didn't want to use the Wii-Mote.

While, I am dissappointed that FF XIII will not be on the Wii, I can understand why they wouldn't want to.

To be fair, a Wii version would require more work to port. For the time being it seems like the new main FF installments will stay on HD platforms while DQ will stay on money-making platforms.

Actually, people would buy a PS3 just for this game. Of course, they'd probably sell it back when they're done. I hear this is common practice in Japan. I remember hearing about it when Blue Dragon came out.

That being said, from console warz perspective, the fact that FFXIII is no longer PS3 exclusive does not mean more titles sold for Square, but rather less games sold for PS3. Serious buisiness, y'know?

Hey, when MGS 4 came out for the PS3, I knew there would be trouble because I honestly did not want to pay that much money for the system. But, again I have been a loyal fan to the MGS series, so I went on decided to go for it and buy the 80 GB PS3. I can say I am happy I made the choice, the game is awesome and so is the system. Please I can now appreciate my 46' Sharp Aquos (liquid crystal television) with some Blu-Ray's whenever I feel like which some movies. So I think that FF fans are going to feel the same way I felt and reside the loyal on a franchise that has meant so much to them.

(I love those Sharp commericals....lol)

Who cares? 360 is a much better system with its already-amazing library of games, I don't care for Final Fantasy but apparently people like it so whatever, good thing it's coming out for 360. Funny how all you fanboys are willing to buy a system for a single game but harbor all this Microsoft hate when they have sooooo many good titles out for their system.

Thats the thing about fanboyism, its usually blinding. You really can't blame people for liking what they like though, even if it is a wrong way to look at things.

And very few people here I think would actually buy a system for one game. As much as I don't like being unable to play one of my favorite series' final farewell (MGS), I won't spoon out that much dough for it. Its not practical.

Nobody was going to buy a PS3 JUST for this game,

IDK, Final Fantasy has always been a pretty big draw for Sony's camp. And now it's on the 360, along with everything else in the world that doesn't feature Mario, Link, or Solid Snake. There's no good answer to the question of why PS3 owners would be upset about FF coming to 360 - some people just take this kind of stuff too seriously. They want to feel validated in their choice of gaming platform, I guess, and they see this move as a threat. Or something.

The real thing we should all be upset about is the 360 Avatars. Microsoft apparently tried to play it off as some big innovation with their channel-based interface, but everyone knows they're ripping off Nintendo. ;\

The real thing we should be upset about is Nintendo's exceptionally lame show at E3 this year. "So we have Animal Crossing, which is good! And Wii Sports 2 will probably make a decent dent in the charts. And, um, Wii Music? Yeah that's about all, see you next year, folks."

Matt Casa-something said it best:

We realize we're probably biting the hand that feeds us with the following suggestion, but going forward, if Nintendo's plan is to focus on uber casual wares, it may as well just wave good-bye to E3 and concentrate instead on getting Oprah Winfrey on the Balance Board and throwing discs to dogs with the Wii remote.

This is true, I was a bit disappointed with what they had to show this year. =( Animal Crossing seems to be more of the same, but with online voice chat(!). Wii Sports Resort, however, is awesome. Wii MotionPlus opens up a lot of possibilities. I'm especially excited about the swordplay portion. Wii Music was neat, but not much more than that. I'll probably get it though provided its not a full priced game.

Voice chat is indeed awesome.

I'm unsure about the MotionPlus thing, though. If it comes out and I buy it and use it for Wii Sports 2, that's great and all, but if it isn't integrated into Nintendo's core titles (Mario and Zelda are honestly my biggest reasons for owning a Wii), what did I buy the thing for?

On the flip side, if I decide that the original Wii Sports is enough and I don't feel like dropping another X amount of dollars into Nintendo's lap, and then developers everywhere stand up and take notice of MotionPlus, I might have to buy the thing.

I saw this coming and said this months ago to my friend about 13. Well most already have a 360 so they don't have to go out and buy a new system just to play XIII... Lets get this straight Nintendo was one of the first and the best with only one flail, Sony is 2nd with the PSP as its best of its systems, MS was last with just wanted to see if they could blow out the other systems and be the only one.... Well the systems is good in 2nd place, but the risk of the systems dieing is really high.. MS does not think ahead.....or at all......

so from what im reading...FFXIII will still be on the PS3 along with XBOX 360??? and that FFXIII Versus is an exclusive to PS3???

WHAT are you talking about? When has PS3 EVVVVER been winning the race? What do you mean 360 not thinking ahead? Did you SEE their E3 presentation? Every 5-10 minutes a new game that's gonna sell like nuts, each game showed I wanna get (with the exception of all of those music games, really not my genre). You may say "LOL 360 IS STEALIN EVRYTHIN DATZ NOT FAIR" What's your point? I want my system to do as much for me as it can, and they wanna sell as much software and hardware as they can. Those needs BETTER intersect, and while I'm excited for Animal Crossing Wii, that's the only thing I'm excited about. Reggi admitted it, "we got out all of our 'hardcore' franchises out in the first year or so [not verbatim]" NO KIDDING. What does the Wii have left now? Getting back to that not thinking ahead bit, yeah I guess all of those gaming companies making exclusives for 360 or changing exclusives to PS3 into cross-platforms can't detect this mass ignorance that some kid on pokegym can detect. Right, of course, because people with million-making sale advisers are vastly inferior to the local fanboy. And that's all this is. Hate. Dude, nobody cares that you don't like Microsoft because they're 'money-hungry' (lol yeah that's why Wii is making all of those 'casual' garbage games, because they don't care about profit pfft) but if you got a problem with a system don't buy it (I know you have a 360 don't attempt to use that as a counter lol). I got a Wii for Nintendo games only. Their 3rd party support, as I see it, is still non-existent. The best 3rd party game they have is No More Heroes, which is ok at best, the dialogue is funny but the action isn't anything too new and it's over in less than 10 hours. Big whoop.
