I had the exact same "problems" with my list. Don't get me wrong, in theory Arcanine and Blissey should be good, and Blissey itself is so good that it doesn't mean this deck is necessarily that bad. It just isn't the best Blissey variant.

Very rarely are you in a situation when you would rather attack with an Arcanine over a Blissey. If you are, chances are you are probably already winning, and you just feel like being an *** and doing an unnecessary amount of damage. Prime's analysis of how this deck works is pretty accurate.

On another note, Roseanne's Research is inferior to Mentor in almost any Blissey variant other than Delcatty. You WANT to be discarding energy to the discard pile. You shouldn't have to worry about not having the necessary energy in your hand if you run enough in the deck plus four Castaway. I think a minimum of ten basic energy is usually needed.

I like the idea of arcanine to:
1. Take down ridiculous pokemon Blissey would otherwise have to 2hko or 3hko.
2. Late game to have quick, GUARANTEED prizes.
3. To respond to any thread with a guaranteed exchange that would really disrupt any comeback the opponent could make.

I can understand how Switch/Warp Point can come in use, but they don't clear the damage like SSU does and even though there aren't too many sniping decks right now, I feel SSU is more all around useful than switch/warp point.

KG: I don't see 4 Arcanine working. Arcanine is not the pokemon you run 4-4 of and nothing else. It has only one attack that costs 4 energy. That means that if you T2 Arcanine, you can't attack until T4. If you use DRE's, you can attack T3. And then the kicker is the effect of the (1) attack that does 40 to itself. Any Kricketune or Blissey deck will be able to follow up with the 60 damage to KO the Arcanine with the 4 energy on it. You would have to time the Arcanine just perfectly for it to work well enough, and any other instance would just have the arcanine dieing and all your energy (DRE, fire, holon ff, etc) going to the discard with it. Now that isn't all bad with Blissey being able to bring back basic energy, but it does lose you momentum. You have to start over damage-wise and start powering a new pokemon. The only way I could see 4 Arcanine working would be if you had a deck based around it with pokemon with FireStarter that could power Arcanine easier.

Arcanine just is so limited because of it's one attack. If it would have had any other attack added with it, it would be so much more playable imho.

The 120 for 4 is so tempting, and the power makes it even more tempting, but it's very much like a bomb. It explodes and does massive damage and then just crumbles into ashes.

I could see people playing maybe a 1-1 Arcanine line just because it is very good when you can actually use it. Since you almost never use the Arcanine anyway, the chances of using BOTH of them are just unreal. It also helps the consistency of the deck to play 1-1.

Hi Prime,

Nice deck but it could use Windstorm in a match versus another Blissey deck. Not entire sure on the tech basic since it fills the bench and can be sniped for an easier prize. Consider the following list:

POKEMON (12):

2 Growlithe SW
2 Arcanine SW
4 Chancey MT
4 Blissey MT

TRAINER (30):

2 Night Maintenance (enable)
3 Super Scoop Up (rescue)
3 Strength Charm (enable)
3 Holon Adventurer (draw)
3 Celio’s Network (search)
3 Holon Mentor (search)
3 Windstorm (enable)
4 Tv Reporter (draw)
3 Quick Ball (search)
3 Copycat (draw)

ENERGY (18):

2 Double Rainbow Energy
3 Holon Energy FF
3 Boost Energy
10 Fire Energy

The list is rather close to how Arcanine decks look like over here beside the fact that most run Oak's research or Galactic's Bet since most speed decks tend to have smaller hands due to the increased amount of search trainers. Let me know what you think about this modifications.

the problem with this deck is that arcanines die too fast. you just end up trading prizes for prizes, and then all that energy from blissey has gone to wast. you are still able to get them back, but at the expense of 4 turns. at least electavire provided draw power through buzz and a more managable energy manipulation system.

it's 2 turns...

I like this deck, though I disagree with the name. It's pretty obvious the deck HB calls fire truk is the OTHER good fire pokemon in this set. I mean from their replies you can't really miss it. I mean if you're going to lose a blissey, you might as well lose an arcanine instead and go out with a bang. Using blissey alone or electivire doesn't allow you to do that.

Edit: On the issue of whether this is or is not Fire TRUK, nobody has the TRUK name copyrighted. My deck's name is Fire TRUK. Don't like it? Nothing you can do about it.

:lol::lol: don't come into his thread and tell him what to name his deck.....

Guys... what did I say about spam? Seriously. NO SPAM. It's not like I won't see it... so why bother posting it?

It wasn't you, magnus. It was other posts that have since been deleted. But next time try to keep it pertinent to the discussion at hand ;D
