it's not like you played against Pooka, Ness, Chuck, Ballard. Heck you didn't even play against me.

Hey Chris. I've been through this on other threads -- We Suck! Florida is soooooo much better at pokemon. We need to learn our place in the heirarchy that is the PTCG. There is NO WAY I could have won any of my cities if I played down there. Ness and Chuck aren't even in the same league, and Jimmy couldn't even wipe their behinds.......

how much did they pay you to say that?

Or are you some FL acting like your from the Midwest?

I guess Chuck getting to top 16 at Worlds, which I believe is what Eric Craig got too.

I have nothing against Eric Craig, he is one of the few guys that isn't a ***** down there. I truly respect him as he is one of the better players down there, but he has something else the others seem to be missing...

Not sure if this was mentioned but here is an interesting comparison between FL and IL, IN, or WI.

Florida may have a lot of good players, but it also has a lot of BAD players in the draw. I have seen the kind of numbers the tournaments draw down there, and there is no way that everyone there is a decent player.

Up here, most of the tournaments we have attended have been small numbers, with most of the terrible players weeded out. It is like people just got the idea that they can't win so the stop playing the game. When you play a tournament here, it is possible that every round you play against a decent player - there are no freebies.

As far as what Faust said, I definitely disagree (assuming he isn't being sarcastic, I can't even TELL anymore lol). Maybe I am biased because I am friends with them and we have played a lot, but I consider Jason and Alex to be both in the Top 10 players in the world, and most players will agree with that. I have also said before that I consider Alex to be the best PLAYER in the world, hands down. His in game play is incredible. Anyway, they both have been at the top of the game since it started, and have done well at the large scale events.

For the record, Faust underestimates himself. I don't see people throw him into the conversation when they talk about the Midwest, but he is at the top of the rankings for a reason.

The saracasm is dripping from the corner of my mouth. I've played enough pokemon to know how good the people in our area are. Florida has some great players no doubt. Silvestro and Craig have proven themselves to be among the best, but If you look at who year in and year out is in the mix at Nats and worlds, we have an absolutely great record...... Thanks for the compliment Matt, I don't consider myself elite, but my deck building and strategy are pretty darn good. I just make way too many misplays to ever consistently beat Jason or Alex, but I did win 5 cities regardless... I can't believe you guys actually thought I was being serious LOL. Jimmy knows me well enough to catch on I hope(I hear footsteps....)

Montague & Capulet, yah, those folks had the right idea.

Folks, we expect some regional pride, but when the thread becomes nothing but pejorative back and forth, it becomes worthless. Find a way to keep discussion to event info and to hospitality with sportsmanlike pride and discussion of records.
