Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Flygon Delta EX

HE (Wood811) played straight Flygon Ex D. No candy, no Flygon D, only other thing he had on the list was Lati-Lock.

Well hey,not to be mean but that would just suck horribly,no nrg accel unless ure just vibrava in the beginning then just bring up Flygon to do damage from attack and sand damage.

But chriscobi can u explain how R-Gon would have such a bad matchup against Blissey or Empoleon?

They just rush you, Poleon and Blissey get a DMH output that is very close to the dmg output of flex, but they aren't ex.
And about R-Gon, i think this kind of deck is still possible but you need to do some major changes.
Whats the sence of using Eggs ? It just sucks horrible now. I really don't get how one can be even thinking about using it anymore. IMO just use a BIG Flygon line and some techs like sableye, mew*, rayquaza and maybe a latilock or a fearow.

Eggs is for spreading and Blissey decks. Mew * is for Magmortar and Infernape decks,Ray is for DWD and Empoleon.
Gardy d Ex is a nice tech I learned to,drop it and just kill that power heavy deck.Lovely card.

How is turn 3 80 bad again? Not many decks can swing for 80 every turn early game that I know of except MAYBE blissey. But I first hit for 30 with my trappy or switch your active out, next turn hit for 40 w/ vibrava if I don't get knocked out but in most cases sac the first trappy w/ no energy to get a Flygon ready. Flygon hits hard early game not letting a chance for the opponent to get set up or hit hard enough to ko my flygon.
6-1 record has at least proved this deck to be playable in the format. I may write a deck article of this for everyone to view but I'm not sure.

Banette is T2 70 or 80 Kricturne T2 80 just some of the decks that do with quicker efforts.

I have to see a article cuz I dont know the deck list is and I still think R-Gon would be more consistant.

6-1 aggainst wait?? Blissey??G&G??Magmortar??other decks that would be considered archtypes,if its 6-1 against all of them then cool but if only 6-1,then I need more proof

don't you read, he went vs. 3-0 Magmortar variants, 3-0 vs. G/G variants. At Niles, where I think he beat Chuck, Ness and Matt Alvis in swiss. He lost to Chuck who had at least 2 Scrambles in play games 2 and 3 by turn 4 in Top 4.

I need more against all archtypes, thats great he did good with it at two tourneys, but I need more playtesting from mostly all archtypes, thats just me.

then start playtesting. What you wanted us to give you a list or something? We made the food already now you want us to spoon feed it to you?

would take a list....

So was the deck just speed Flygon basically, a lil techs with a trapinch start or...?
(I havent been reading much on this topic)

this entire thread has made me lol from start to finish.

flygon is SO BAD OMG

results don't lie Zach. 6-0 in a very tough meta-game. Don't give me the whole FL Vs. Midwest thing again. Give me results, facts anything else besides a LOL, LMAO and OMG.

ugh, i reiterate! wood, although a decent player, can attribute his success with this deck to variance. i dont think that it would make a top cut week in and week out. he plays a lot of obscure decks, obscure variants, etc. and being that he is a decent player, he is BOUND to do well at a tournament with SOMETHING. it just so happened to be this deck.

Flygon is not BDIF anymore but it's by no means bad either. One particular gentleman in Masters here took an R-Gon deck to top cut in all 4 of our CCs, winning 3. True, I don't have the toughest metagame out here, but there were enough Fire TRUKs, GGs, and other speed deck clones running around to make Flygon's success more than just a fluke.

There are still ways to make it work in the post-Holon era.

Flygon ex d isn't that great now. EXs are so good anymore because of the EX rule(that when they die ur opponent takes 2 prizes). Also normal pokemon are being as powerful if not more powerful than ex pokemon. Also all exs have x2 weakness.

Cressalia Lv.x was the final nail in poor Flygon ex's coffin.

Flygon ex = a stupid play.

...Cressalia Lv X. THAT was the final nail in Flygon's unmade coffin? Please do explain as to how you came up with that, as that makes no sense. Flygon can easily OHKO Cressalia before it did much of anything.

I think Flygon ex d is still a good card, but without the Holon Engine, it's harder to make it work, but SW did help it out with coming out with Vibrava SW to spread about damage, so it still has potential.
