That last sentence, I think it just maybe says it all. Here I'll quote it for you...

"At best," Judd said, emphasizing several times that the candy had been manufactured in China, "we're dealing with poor quality control."

I don't think it will have any effect on Pokemon IMO.

When Judd branded the 'made in China' stamp on it, he basicly said, "It's not Pokemon's fault, it's those darn Chinese goons who can't make something of quality to save their lives."

Ha ha ! I thought that was funny. How 'bout you?

I don't get the big deal about the candy. Nobody even ate it.

I wish I had a lollipop like that, it would be a great conversation piece.

the problem isnt pokemon
parents who dont educate well enought their kids are.

but yeah, pokemon is evil :p

wow I feel sorry for the 6 year old but I am sure that he is no longer bringing his cards to school any more . I would never let my kids bring anyting to school that's really popular and is at a good chance to be stolen/taken by another person. Then again kids do like to sneak things out of the house to show their friends.

The parents should get blame of what happened.
Honestly, why would the parents be owning a pellet gun?
And why would they not lock it up for the kid not to get it?
This is just stupid on their part.

ok i'm sry to not have spoken up soon for the miss understanding of an airsoft gun, my boss owns one and its interesting its a Foam pellet for one making and leaving small marks and they sting a bit ( yes we shot each other with them) but by no mean should this be compared to a pellet gun which uses CO2 to project a Small metal bebe at extremely high velocoty, these Airsoft guns shot at a lower velocety than a paint ball gun ( >280 FPS by standard feild chronographing) and can be bought buy just about any one with a Wal-MArt Etc near them. Also the reason Paint balls leave welts on thos morons on Youtube is becuase they mostly have top quality No2 propelled Guns that are Cranked higher than feild standard and are fired closer than 15 feet which once again isn't recommened, there will always be idiots in the world ruining something fun and good ( airsofting/paintballing) and turning in into a feared thing

the issue, IMO is not the 'type' of gun this kid used, but more the fact that he believed that getting what he wanted *at gunpoint* was acceptable behavior.

it doesn't matter that it was 'just' a pellet gun, bb gun, airsoft, paintball gun or REAL gun...just as it doesn't really matter what it was the kid was trying to get: cell phone, ipod, jewelry, money, toys, or pokemon cards. the issue is that the kid brought the weapon to school and used it to intimidate another child into giving him what he wanted.

My point was mearly to avoid people being turned off from the possible enjoyment of the Physical activity that can be had with said devices mearly because they think there child might hold anotehr kid up.

i have NO fear my kids would hold another kid up just because they touched or were in the presence of a paintball/pellet gun when participating in that activity in a safe facility. i'd guess most of the parents here on the 'gym don't, either.

the
gun wasn't what influenced that kid to do what he did...

i konw whta u guys meani am not a parent i am still sakid but some kids what they will do to get what they what ...////it is sad not really really sad u know what i mean

I just googled these guns.
They look darn real, except for the little red bit at the end.
I can imagine they would be very frightening to a 6 year old, even if they would do damage or not.
And I expect they could do some damage at close range.
After all, Brandon Lee, Bruce Lee's son, was killed by a malfunctioning blank charge from a gun.

'pop they actually shoot little plastic beads out of the gun, I know I bought one myself ....They do hurt when you get hit close range with it and it surely would take out a eye no problem.:frown: Ours here in Canada are all made with clear plastic though as they resemble a gun but are see through. The pellets they shoot are around 4 mm .

On topic that is a terrible thing the kid did for cards.....If that was my son he wouldn't see the light of day for a very very long time as I would ground him for quit awhile for pulling a stunt like that.....All though I know my son wouldn't ever pull such a stunt .

AirSoft is a specific type of gun that shoots "soft" pellets. They are designed for war games, and can be **** at people without injury--of course, if you're shooting someone at close range, that is not how they are meant to be used, and could, in that case, cause some type of harm.
