    Magikarp Lv.1 30HP [W]

    Basic Pokémon

    PokéBody: Evolutionary Explosion.
Whenever Magikarp takes damage from an attack and is not Knocked Out, you may search your deck for a card that evolves from Magikarp and put it on top of it. This counts as evolving Magikarp.

Why not the power work when it is Knocked Out?

For one, it's a body. not a power... second, what's the use in evolving a Pokémon when it's just been knocked out?

Because then it won't be Knocked Out anymore.

... you know, both of you are probably the same guy...
to answer: because it doesn't make sense. according to the rules, it would evolve and be knocked out at the same time... it's just a needless complication.

    They're brothers.

Pichu bros rox, Charmander rox, and Meditite rox are all brothers.

If you get the Light Gyarados Lv. X's loaded, you are almost auto-win...

    Light Gyarados Lv. X with /Blastoise DP3.

    *Loads 10ish energies*

*Opponent sees his damage is now reduced by 100*

*You are hitting for 200+ damage*

    Wonder who wins. ;p

Actually spoink, the max that can be reduced is 60. It only counts energy cards used to pay for the attack. And.. good luck even getting out both of those at once...

First of all, we are not the same person. If you looked at the PikaClan Apprentice 1st round thread, why would I argue with myself about Ledyba's retreat.

If Magikarp is KO'ed by a Lucario's Feint, Magikarp's Poke-Body would activave, evolving it into a Gyarados. Then you check to see if it's KO'ed. It isn't.

Also, why does it reference Pokemon Powers?

Finally, there is no way to keep track of which of your Gyarados evolved by Evolutionary Explosion, making it an inpossible concept.

    1. you all seem to say similar things and frequently reference each other... Though I didn't know you were brothers.
    2. the part of the body about only working when magikarp is not knocked out works regardless of that situation anyway, since it would be massively broken to allow a Pokemon to evolve when it would be knocked out..
    3. use in unlimited. back before the E-card revolution where nintendo took over the rights to the tcg from wizards, there were these things called pokemon powers which served as an all purpose name for effects similar to both pokepwers and pokebodies.
    4. there are countless cards in the recent sets which say: If (so and so) is evolved from (whoever)... or if (insert pokemon here) is anywhere underneath... it's not any harder to keep track of than the cards in your discard pile.

    3. Whenever a card references Poke-Powers and Poke-Bodies, it automatically works on Pokemon Powers.
    4. Yes, but do they keep track of how they evolved?

Are you two seriously having an arguement about an imaginary card?
