We talked to the TO for tomorrow's event in our area. There's some general info that Nintendo should have put on their website that is somewhat important:

If you are under the age of 15, you must have a parent or guardian at the event for the duration of the event.

Now on to the stuff that everyone wants to see, the prizes. Bear in mind this is for EACH AGE GROUP:

1st Place
$200 gift certificate to Pokemon.com
1 box of R/S
1st Place Medal

2d Place
1 box of R/S
Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire Game Cartridge
2nd Place Medal

3rd Place
16 boosters of R/S
Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire Game Cartridge
3rd Place Medal

4th Place
16 boosters of R/S

5th-8th Place
10 boosters of R/S

(For those keeping track or trying to figure out how much product to order just for prizes, that's 2 cases)

The medals look SWEET!

There will also be 2 random drawings (for all participants, not per age group) for:

1 Game Boy SP
1 E-Reader

Everyone will get:
1 Reverse Holographic Kyorge Ex
1 Reverse Holographic Groudon Ex
1 Eon Ticket
1 page of either R/S stickers or R/S temporary tatoos

Please bear in mind that there may have been problems with shipping and all the prizes may not have made it to your venue.

Please make sure that you DO NOT KEEP the link cables provided to you for the GameBoy portions of these events.

We hope that everyone enjoys!

Credit myself and Dayton_Pokemom, but I have no problems at all with reprinting the info. There was a Challenge today, so it was just a matter of time until the info went public. Enjoy!

Quick Question about this "If you are under 15 u need a parent/guardian". My little bro is 12, but I will be there(I'm 16), do I count as a guardian?

Wouldn't see why not.

BTW, I had to make a change. The 4th place player doesn't get the game cart, the second place player does. Sorry about any confusion this may have caused. I've corrected the main post to reflect that.

Oh cool. Pokemon R/S Game cartridge? Ok seriously what kinna prize is that, seeing everyone has to bring a cartridge anyway...

Oh, I dunno...my younger son was pretty happy with the cartridge he got (Ruby) since he had Sapphire...:)

ilc you should ask the TO of the event ahead of time as it is TO's discretion. It is always better to know these kinds of things ahead of time.

"Now on to the stuff that everyone wants to see, the prizes. Bear in mind this is for EACH AGE GROUP:"

Does this mean that each age group has seperate prizes?

What would happen if there were only about 15 participants; with less than 8 in each age group? What would happen then?

I find this interesting that the 4th place winner doesnt get the Ruby or Sapphire game cart, for the reason that it was listed in the TO information, and when I email Nintendo asking if the prizes the TO's were given was correct, I was emailed back that there was not changes in them. Have you talked to Nintedo about it?

I am the TO for this event and I'm looking at prize list that I received from Nintendo Friday (8/8/03). The information posted by DaytonGymLeader (the amazing HJ) is correct with the modification for the cartridge. Here is the exact prize list as I recieved:

1st Place Medal
1 box of R/S

2nd Place
2nd Place Medal
1 box of R/S
Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire Game Cartridge (one @ random)

3rd Place
3rd Place Medal
16 boosters of R/S
Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire Game Cartridge (one @ random)

4th Place
16 boosters of R/S

5th-8th Place
10 boosters of R/S

There will also be 2 random drawings (for all participants, not per age group) for:

1 Game Boy SP
1 E-Reader

Everyone will get:
1 Reverse Holographic Kyorge Ex
1 Reverse Holographic Groudon Ex

1 page of R/S temporary tatoos

Hope that helps!

It's more of a fairness guideline - it's uncool to the tournament organizer, when they look around, and find that a parent has dropped off four 8 year-olds....and suddenly the TO feels responsible for the kids.

My general recommendation is that parents hang out in the area. It's just like going to your son or daughter's soccer game - showing support for their interests, and the fact that the parent is around in case the kid falls down and gets hurt. Disappearing for 15-20 minutes to check out a store nearby isn't bad style - this is addressing things like the 4-hour coffee break a couple miles away.

I just got off the phone with Steve from Nintendo and asked about the 4th place prizes. He did say that there is suppose to be a Ruby or Sapphire game pack for 4th place. If it is not included in your prize kit PESMan you might want to email him and ask him about it. Just email it to the address he used to send the information.
