Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

good animes to watch

i'm surprised no one mentioned kenechi: the mightiest disciple (i think that's the correct spelling)

That's the English name? I know it as "History's Strongest Disciple: Kenichi". And it's an EXCELLENT, if somewhat perverted, manga. Haven't seen the anime to comment.

the anime is pretty good. i didn't know that there actually was a manga for it. the anime is somewhat perverted, but that comes standard with a lot of T+ animes now.

I've been enthralled with Mirai Nikki since about 2 months ago.

Very engaging. Very brutal. Definitely not something that I would have expected.

It definitely gets props for originality and cleverness.

I've been watching Mahou Shojo Madoka Magica (or Puella Magi Madoka Magica) on Crunchyroll. I don't know if I can recommend it highly enough.
Watch the first 3 episodes. That should hook you. Highly HIGHLY recommended.

Animation is top-notch, music is excellent, pacing is great, writing is superb.

Must recommend the entire season of DBZ for anyone who hasn't seen it already.

I recently started watching it after only following bits and pieces when I was younger and now that I'm older, watching every episode in the series and understanding the story line... I have to admit. It's possibly one of the best shows ever.

Do you mean DBZ or DB Kai?

I watched Kai and thought it was excellent. I don't think I would be able to sit through 100% more filler for DBZ, however.

Kai is essentially Z in half the time. Z has no "filler" in the traditional anime sense. There's just a lot of wasted time in each episode.

Forgetting the Garlic Junior saga are we? But other than that you're right most of it's due to the odd episode here and there (hello driving school episode :thumb:) and the wasted time in some episodes (though that's because of it running close to the manga for a while, especially with Frieza)

Also I'd recommend Shiki to anyone interested, though disclaimer, it's not for the squeamish, especially later in the series.

Shiki is pretty good. A nice take on the horror genre. It actually is "realistic" about how something like that would happen.

I definitely concur that it can get very intense for the more squeamish.

yeah I found it around the release of Episode 13.
Sadly the anime just ended. Great Show.

I was the edge of my seat the entire anime.

I haven't seen episode 26 yet. Need to wait a week for it to release on Hulu/Funimation.

I'm most stoked about the final 2 episodes of Madoka Magica. It has already jumped into my favorite anime list, and may reach the upper levels of the list if those 2 episodes pan out the way the rest of the series has.

Full Metal Alchemist, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Girls Bravo (never seen it but my friend said it is good), Kekaishi, Naruto, Bleach.

Kekkaishi is an awful anime that cuts off about 1/3 of the way through the story. The manga actually, y'know, completes the story, and it's actually a halfway decent one.

I loved Yu-Yu-Hakusho, G Gundam, and Zoids all because of their tournament style of fights. Can anyone recommend me an anime sort of like the ones above? ( I put those shows in that order because thats the order of most liked to least) I would prefer if it was more super powery than robots though :D

Naruto early (up through about episode 60) on has a pretty good tournament arc. However if you've seen YuYu Hakusho, that's pretty much the top rung of tournament shonen.

Dragon Ball Kai has a good tournament arc with the Cell Saga.

Don't forget the original Dragon Ball. It has several tournament arcs throughout the series.
