Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Goodbye BeNeLux Cup, welcome European Challenge Cup 2011

Now, just gotta know, how in the heck did a deck described as a LostGar teched with Vileplume turn into first a VileGar with a LostGar tech, to now just a VileGar??? Maybe give credit where credit is due and relent that LostGar may actually make a real impact on upcoming tournaments...

First post, from someone who sounded like they had intimate knowledge of the deck:

Andceo with LostGar + Vileplume is in top 2 against Martin Der Vis's or Steffen Mao's LuxChomp (don't know, sorry. lol)

GO ITALY!!

[We already won Junior Category, 2/3 would be amazing]

Second and third posts, which seem to be operating off the "guess what I heard" method (I mean were either of you even there and if so did you face the deck or see the list?):

It was more like Vilegar with a Lostgar tech, but mehh.

@pokemaster1970

I think you're overestimating the importance of Lostgar in the deck of the second place winner... To me it seems like this guy was playing a regular Vilegar-deck along with one copy of Gengar TR. He didn't really tech in anything else to benefit Lostgar - at least that's what i think, seeing as he did so well;)

To now this:

OMG A LUXCHOMP WON!!!!

Seriously, nice to know stuff. Vilegar in 2nd, LC won. Pretty standard.

He posted on Facebook that he played "VileLostGar".

My information on the Top4 is accurate... I played Maurice (Machamp) in Round 8 where he donked me, he told me that he played against 6 LuxChomp 1 Gigas 1 Gyarados/Mew until now and in Top32 and Top16 he played against LuxChomp again (maybe Top8 too, but I really don't know).

I also know what Steven (LuxChomp w/ Roserade, Twins, Ambipom, Dragonite, Weavile) played since I lost in Top8 against him. When I was called over for the prices I saw LuxChomp on his opponent's field, too.

@Baby Mario: I think I played your brother, at least he knows what Mew does now :p

So is it Vilegar with a Lostgar tech, Lostgar with a Vileplume tech, or Vileplume with a Lostgar tech because I don't understand now.

When you guys say "LostGar" that usually means you play Lost World. But since you guys claim he played 1 Gengar Prime it seems to me he played a Gengar Prime Tech in a VileGar Build which is very very common. In Other words I think there trying to say a VileGar deck with a tech of Gengar Prime unless it in fact did run lost world with a 1 gengar prime (Highly unlikely.)

I don't think it's a case of trying to trick anyone, just a misunderstanding - they probably have different names for decks in Italy.

Andrea played LostGar/Vileplum with 1 SF Gengar.
Of course there was Lost World included and also a Mr. Mime.
He played really Pro , so 1 SF Gengar would be enough to beat some of LostGars annoying MUs.

In the new thread European Challenge Cup 2011: Finals standings and coverage reports final standings report and coverage will be published. I hope to read MathYena's coverage reports and interviews soon, too!

For those at the tournament, it was great to see, meet, greet and speak to so many of you! You all showed great sportmanship and looking at the faces most had a lot of fun too!:thumb:

Thank you,

I was under the assumption he played "1 Gengar Prime" as posted earlier in this thread. So wheres the correct answer. 1? 2? 3? Primes or what lol. Seems like a total mess.

Are you sure? I sat next to him (and another girl that played the same deck and was from italy) and i was under the assumption that he played 2 Gengar SF, 1 Prime and 1 X.

Hello boys!
Yes, i confim that the deck was a LostGar, with 2 Prime, 1 SF, 1 X, Vileplume, Mime and Lost World.
In the final i won the first game thanks to the Lost World, lost the 2nd (shame on me and on my misplays and congrats to Steven that won such a difficult game) and cannot do anything in Sudden Death.

We were in two playing the same deck (me and Martina Canto) and ended day1 7-1 (2°) and 6-2 (7°).
We lost to the same deck (Morten's Magnezone Prime) which was really good against ours, even if its LuxChomp match-up was little harder (and he lost in top32 in day2).

I was really close to the victory, but after having easily won the 1st game i had a really difficult 2nd game and, because of the pressure of the final and the fear of time, i made some crucial errors which cause me the lost.

BTW, i have been very lucky in the day 2 (i had defeated 3 LuxChomp in top cut thanks to some good Sudden Death game), so i don't regret anything about my tournament.
Since it was very funny, i'll post a report early!!

Congrats to Andceo for bring so up italian colours!!
Andceo told about my daughter Martina that did so well in swiss losing in T32 vs another good italian player with Luxchomp in a very close match (1 prize...). She did a fatal mistake during game 1 and had so few time to recover and try to go at T16.
However she was the only girl in T32 in her second year in Masters Division and she did end at 20th place.
Sorry :)) but I'm so proud of her! :)))

Which is a lot of the reason why Luxchomp is BDIF.

Devastating core strategy (choose something and KO it), combined with the ability to tech against pretty much anything without killing consistency.
