We hope you've all 'discovered' the Gallery by now and are enjoying it! We have more things planned for it and we're slowly opening up uploading in there so that we can gauge the workload; however every member can view the pics and reply to/comment on them. I'd like to highlight some of the contributions that have gone in there since we opened:

  • Promo Cards - In addtion to the complete POP Series 2 scans by Big Daddy Snorlax, we have almost 200 scans comprising complete sets of PUI and WotC Promo Card by BLiZzArD.
  • Fake Cards - Marcello-Milord has been continuing his excellent Eidolon Forest series of translated scans ('Scanlations'). This set is widely estimated to be coming out in early 2006. You can get a peak at what some cards might look like with Marcello's scanlations. Dustox Ex will be an EX 'Safeguard' Pokémon??!
  • Darksight530 has added to the Worlds 2005 event pix contributed by nfgcgrb. You are invited to add some replies and identify who is in the pictures, especially if it is you (first name only for little ones, ok?). If you're a Professor you can upload some of your favorite Worlds 2005 shots to this gallery as well.
  • We just opened a Nationals 2005 category as well. Profs can upload their favorite shots in there.
  • Team Compendium scrapbook is open as well. We neglected to remove the pre-opening passwords on that gallery.
  • Of course, every member should be able to see the Gallery random images strip on the front page. I'm planning to debug that so that people who aren't logged in can see it, too.
  • There are bugs/errors and suggestions topics in the RTC for comments on the Gallery functions. Check those out if you see a problem or have a suggestion.
There are two especially exciting Contests running on the 'Gym right now.

  1. Iron Chef - this contest is fun for the contestants, but even if you're not competing, if you're interested in strategy and deck building, you should check out the results page for Round 1. There is some pretty good thought being given to deck construction -- you can get plenty of ideas and general principles of deck building even if you don't plan to run a deck with the 'ingredients' the Chefs have to cook. Also, don't miss Patriarch's comments on Round 1 decks. There's a ton of good deck building info in his critiques of the Chef's cuisine.
  2. Avatar Contest - this is being run by our Gallery Admin, Maverick Hunter Zero. Deadline for uploading avatars is Sept 20. After that voting (using the Gallery's image rating) begins. See the contest rules and get your entries uploaded.
Also, don't miss the new section in Deck Help and Strategy, the Archetype & Standard Strategies forum. The idea with this forum is to have a place where novice deck builders can learn about deck construction and archetypes, plus provide a place where standard decks are explained as a shortcut to the 'strategy' requirement in submitting decks for fixes. We have some great contributions by the guys below (ryanvergel, Venusaur, Zack_Ex Mudkip, Plaidlespez, Ho Megas Alexandros, etc). With these excellent articles we have a resource where event the advanced deckbuilder can benefit. We're soliciting new original articles, from people who have successfully played and have a passion for particular archetype decks. If that is you, take a look at the format of the already submitted articles and submit your article!

Well, there's more more more, but that's all the typing I can do for now. We appreciate all the contributions the members make to the PokéGym in their everyday postings and topics!! Enjoy.
