I am not sure if I am allowed to post something like this, but I suppose it is worth a try.

All right, for anyone who is going to the Sandstorm tournament next Saturday in San Diego, I need your help. After the tournament and side-events are over, I will have a scanner and laptop hooked up to a generator in my car. What I want to do is to scan as many of the EX Sandstorm cards as possible for my website so that I can get them up before any other website. This is what I am planning on to do. If you want to help, all you have to simply do is come to my car, place some of your EX Sandstorm cards on my flatbed scanner (don't worry, my scanner isn't going to steal them) and then I will hit a button on my laptop. The scanner will scan the cards, then save them to my laptop. It's as simple as that! 9 cards can go at one time, which means that since there are 100 something cards in the set, so it shouldn't take more than 20 minutes to scan every card in the set. Then, on my two hour drive home, I will crop the images and stuff, write the card list, and hopefully have them posted on my site by that day or Sunday for everyone's viewing pleasure. And if anyone helps, they will have their name/nickname posted on my site for helping to complete the card scans.

So, if anyone wants to help, e-mail me at PokeBeachWebsite@aol.com so we can discuss what to do.

And remember all judges, this will take place AFTER everything is over, so it won't interfer or take away people from the tournament.

    All help is appreciated!

    Thanks-
    WPM (aka Jon)

Oh, did I mention that I am going to put the scanner on the car seat in the back of the car. In other words, you just walk up to the opened car door, lay down 9 cards at a time, then I hit the button in the front seat. I am thinking about bringing some chairs, too. (air conditioning will be provided) Also, please post your e-mail or send me an e-mail so I can get some description of you or have a meeting place to grab you after the tourny. My e-mail is PokeBeachWebsite@aol.com

why not just hook up the laptop and scanner in the tournament room rather than your car....

PT&E1 is checking that out for me and will have the answer on Wednesday. If not, we can just do it outside by the car. Anyways, it will probably be late afternoon by then and it will be pretty cool, not scorching hot. I am also thinking of playing a Pokémon movie for anyone who helps, since the generator can have 4 120 volt devices plug into it. A TV, a fan, the laptop, and the all in one scanner.

Anyone else interested? So far, I have four people who will be donating their cards to be scanned.

I would be happy to lend my services. I also have some Pokemon Movies (all Japanese and English releases, plus the Raikou Special) if you'd like me to bring those.

    Take Care,

I suppose you could bring The First Movie in Japanese, since it it different from the English release. Otherwise, the only movie I don't have is the fifth one, which I think comes out in December. Is it on VHS or DVD?

And once again, if PT&E1 gets approval for me to bring in the scanner and laptop, then we won't need any movies. Also, please e-mail me or AIM me at PokeBeachWebsite@aol.com so I know who you are and can discuss some stuff.

I can bring the fifth movie in Japanese. I am going to be carpooling with PT&E1, so if there is anything else you'd like me to bring, I'd be more than happy to do so.

    Take Care,

Well, it seems that we will in fact be able to get all the scans up with all the people helping. Cool, now we will be able to beat all of the big sites, along with getting all the scans a few weeks before the set is released. I was just able to re-create the pre-sets I use for the card scans on my site, since they were deleted by a virus, so it will take about three minutes for 9 cards to be scanned to my laptop, which will mean scanning all of the cards will take probably around 30-60 minutes to scan. The only thing I am worried about is that it will take too long to make the card list, so I may just post the links to the scans. Anyone else want to help? All you have to do is donate your cards for three minutes to be scanned, then they go back into your binder. And remember, you will get your name/nickname posted for helping to complete the card scans.

The card list will be the easiest thing to make. The pre-release events will make you fill out a Deck Registration Sheet that has the card name and number of every card in the set. Nice thing is, if you get an extra one, it makes a good check list too!

Only bad part of the deck list is you have to register all the cards you get, not just the cards that you use. But don't worry, the Opened/Used columns make it easy, just write the number of how many you recieved.

Too bad we are not allowed to post the set list yet :(

Wow, that's good news. I could probably finish the card list before the tourny even begins.

    Scanning/posting Sandstorm info

Hello all. Unfortunately, I have bad news about the scanning this weekend.

Although Water Pokemon Master and everyone elses efforts in this project is enthusiastic, it is not something that Pokemon USA or PT&E wants to have connected with this weekend's Sandstorm Prerelease. No scanning will be allowed in the tournament room.

Additionally, we strongly discourage this activity outside of the tournament room in any form (whether during or after the event). Any public solicitation to participate is also discouraged.

I know this sounds harsh. It is. However, I cannot allow any of PT&E's Pokemon or other premiere events to be utilized as such.

Also, I must give notice that if any players are caught being associated with this activity, then they will be disqualified from the event.

The bottom line is: No public Pokemon event should be used to promote, solicit, or participate in spoiler activities. Furthermore, any activities of this nature that are blatantly advertised/promoted may incur restrictions or bannings from future events.

Do these activities go on? Yes. Are they officially authorized? No. Should they be associated with public events? No.

With that being said, I hope for everyone's understanding and assistance in keeping this weekend's event fun, professional, and circumstance free.

I got your e-mail and I suppose I should have e-mailed you asking before I started anything like this. I am sorry PT&E1, I won't bring the scanner to the event or anything of that nature to get the scans.

But, I have a question. Would it be alright if when I get home, to scan the cards that I get, or is that prohibited too. Many websites, such as PA! will be doing this, so is it alright since the scanning is taking place exactly 103 miles away from home, and it only involves me?

    Thanks and sorry!
