Great Job, and thanks for proving rogue can do very well!! Your deck is really a piece of Pokemon of Pokemon history, in my opinion. I really hope they print it!

All I can say is, "ouch." Well, all adding oregon would do is one professor championship (shawn gettys), back when the professor cup gave out worlds invites.

It's a good teaching opportunity, the strats they print in those decks just aren't good enough anyway.

Congrats Ross! It was deja vu watching you and David playing up there. What was funny was watching the Chin boys hang on every move. Not that I blame them. Not that I wasn't hanging on to every move myself, LOL! It was and will always be a distinct pleasure to watch you play, especially a deck that no one else thought of and quite frankly no one else could effectively play. I look forward to seeing you and David go at it again a couple of times throughout the year (after you both have beaten me soundly of course!)

"Ross is going aggro, for the first time in pokemon history!!!!! Ross is attacking david cohen!!!!!"

Actually, I was doing play by play because Paul was on the other line and he wasn't watching. I was doing him a favor.

Great job Ross. You are still the "Chuck Norris of Pokemon" in my book!

And your behind the curtain peek was of Unicorn Rainbow Land (URL) where the web team was working hard.

Awesome job again Ross. This has to be your best deck creation since Storm. Yours and David's match was turelu epic and was a joy to watch. Keep at it you will one day become World Champion.
(or at least a Northwest regional championship maybe )

It was an easy add because honestly the deck needs basics to fight bench attacking decks like stage ones and yanmegazone. I forget who came up with it. The problem was none of us were really working on the list until Friday because we were still preparing for the grinder. The main concern was the complexity of the deck combined with needing to win two out of three in 45 minutes. There were also issues fitting all the pokemon, we were working with the original list and couldn't find the cuts to the initial list to make it work. I feel like the biggest breakthrough was Ross realizing that he didn't need 7 outrage dragons for the deck. When he came in with his blissey list that gave us just enough room to tweak the deck.

Oh man, I cannot thank you enough for coming up with this deck. I never had so much fun playing in the main event in my LIFE. :D

    Thanks a lot everyone!

Bullados-yeah Earthquake to Outrage damage was really just an 'extra' feature. I arrived at playing Donphan and Zekrom both due to their high hp mainly.

Sdrawkcab-Good catch on a change I forgot to talk about between the 2 lists. I believe I thought of Pichu fairly early in testing, even before changing to the Blissey version and then the Donphan version. Basically the deck always wants 2 Solosis and 2 Oddish to begin as every deck in the format has Reversal and/or Yanmega. If I got stuck with no Solosis or no Oddish after a ko, I'd be really slow, and against Yanmega I could probably never build one past a basic. Being able to get 2 and 2 and a Zekrom to stall behind was really helpful, as well as the ability to Communicate for Pichu if I didn't have Collector. Though as I mentioned, I used it less in the tournament than I had in testing, so maybe 4 Collector 1 Pichu is better in the end.

I think you made the right call on the 3-2 split, since there are so many situations where which you use is soly dependent on your hand. By using one the other becomes mute, however having pichu prized when you start lone oddish would just be the death of you ;x

Either way, great read. I always look forward to reading your reports.

I'm at the beach right now, so I think I'm going to go and buy a UFO kite and fly it in honor of you Ross.

Great report by the way, a most enjoyable read. :D

Sorry for dropping the ball on that one.
GJ man, can you tell me what your deck is now?
My friends and I had your deck built and testing after day one of worlds.

Simply incredible, I'm seriously glad to see something different go far in the tournament. For it to be trainer lock is a serious plus for me. I admit, when I first heard about your deck, the title pretty much described my exact feeling, haha.

    Great job, and great read!

It was great seeing you again, and amazing seeing something SOOOOO original go so far, in a format where there seemed to be so few options. Congratulations on an incredible deck and an incredible result, and good luck next year.
