Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

How good is my event Hoopa's set?

Hyperspace Hole
Psychic
Nasty Plot
Dark Pulse

Also, it is holding a Focus Sash and has the Magician ability and its Nature is Naïve. I have used the Prison Bottle on it. It looks so cool!!

Do you know the EV's, IVs and such?

A good set is

EVs: 252 SATK, 252 SPD, 4 HP
Nature: Modest
Item: Choice Scarf
Focus Blast
Hyperspace Hole
Hyperspace Fury
(Coverage Move)

If you can get something like this, I would get it. Hoopa U is powerful enough to be a threat all on its own. If you dont like the scarf, you can use Nasty Plot. It really does push it over the top and brings some hard hits but the speed is quite lackluster so the scarf makes it hit first sometime since it has a good speed tier for choice scarf.

The ev's don't work. They come up as invalid when I plug them into an ev calculator.

Stats are:

HP: 215
Attack: 275
Defense: 115
Special Attack: 273
Special Defense: 203
Speed: 176

I gave it all the vitamins I could. Its Ability is Magician, and its Nature is Naïve. It was given to me from McDonald's down the street on Friday the 27th at level 50. It is now level 72.

If you gave it all the vitamins before you IV calculated it- it will not IV calculate correctly. Checking the IV's is recommended to do before you do anything such as vitamins or leveling up.

You can save your game before you accept the gift from the gal. Then accept, and then check it's IV's then. You can soft-reset for the IV's and nature.

If you do anything before checking the IV's, you will get the "invalid" notice. The only way you can get the correct IV's is to reset the IV's to zero with berries to reduce the used EV's.

I know all of that, the point is that I now have a formidable counter to Mega Mewtwo. Plus, I wrote all the stats down before I gave it all its vitamins, and it still came up as invalid.

Are you sure about the nature? and are those the stats totals when you received it or after being leveled up to 72?

somewhere something is not adding up right- the calcs I have used (3 different ones) have said the nature is not correct (naïve)

The stats I wrote down are the stats of when I received it. The ev calculator didn't help me and a few other people at all. It is a McDonald's event pokemon. I may even use my own calculator on my phone to calculate ev's since the ones aren't helping on the Internet. Yes, I'm 100% sure about the Nature.

OK- I have not touched my Hoopa - and................ it will not compute as well.

one of two things:

either the calculators are "calibrated" wrong for the stats
the McDonald Hoopa has a special/unique feature toit.

I will look into this and as to why it will not compute---------

edit-----------------------

use this calculator found here: http://www.psypokes.com/dex/iv.php

try Veekun site or Azurilland

*make certain to not input "unbound" Hoopa- I do think this is where there might be the issue for getting a proper calculation.
Just make sure to check the options in the calculator- I made the mistake with the "unbound" with Serebii and Metalkids calculators.
They are calibrated for voth forms of Hoopa-
Use Psypoke calculator for your Hoopa, which it right off gave me my IV's for my Hoopa without any issues on form unless I specifically typed in Hoopa Unbound-

hope this helps-
