Realistacally (lol) I think there wouldn't be an issue with everyone having Dragonites, Charizards ect.
Leveling up wouldn't be easy as it is in the games. I would take years for a Charmander to become a Charizard, and legendary pokemon would be just that. Not everyone would be rolling around on a Dialga.
Fuark if only.
 
Man.. you're probably right about the leveling up.

Our Pokemon would surely outlive us.. and some of us/most of us.. wouldn't even be able to see it evolve into its final form.

I would completly use Garchomp for my adventure. What about a Mr. Mime to do chores. Pikachu for a pet. And a Infernape (for obvious reasons). :)
 
~ Actually Weather Problems, even if you take legendary pokemon out
ie tyranatar, Ninetails and Politoad.

~ I'd like a Pokemon that could fly or if possible and Teleport.
So Pidgeot/ Kadabra

~ if I could Pick 1 Legendary mew :p

1. Mew/ Or some psychic pokemon to help with work/whatever
2. Pidgeot
3. Pikachu (because it's cute)
4. Eevee because it's cute <3
 
Remember that Pokemon are only regionally relevant. So it would really depend on where I lived when they came into play.

That being said, if I had access to any of them anywhere, I would probably invest in an Arcanine. Just for practical reasons.
My outside Pokemon would be a dragonite. I spend a lot of money on postage and Dragonite could deliver for me.

My legendary would be Celebi. There have been countless times when I needed to freeze time for a little bit and get some extra sleep or work done.
