There are apparently many ways, but the only one I've used is exchanging IP addresses with your opponent and playing them that way.

You see the number on hamachi in front of everyone's name? That's an IP adres. Think of it as an Identification Plate.
If you are the guest, you must insert the host's IP before you can connect.

okay, how do I play on the Pokebeach network? (or whichever one supports redshark)

In order to play with someone online via Redshark, you must join a network. Check this thread for networks from Pokegym members: http://pokegym.net/forums/showthread.php?t=88103

Some of them are already full so try them all out to increase the chances of joining one.
