My son and I enjoy playing tcg all the time. I have been collecting cards for many years. I still have a ton of old gen 1 legacy cards from way back in the day.... some still can hold their own against the newer stuff.

One of my favorite cards from the old school days (for which I have 2 ) is Mr Mine from the Jungle expansion set.

Last weekend, my son and I were playing and he was using his new dragon deck, while I was using a psychic deck which has a mix of new and old cards.

We ran into a issue where neither one of us knew what to do. It had to do when my Mr Mime came up against his Kommo-o GX

It was his turn and he wanted to use Shred against my Mr Mime.... but alas.... does it do damage??

In case you don't see the images

    Mr Mime:
    Pokémon Power Invisible Wall
Whenever an attack (including your own) does 30 or more damage to Mr. Mime (after applying Weakness and Resistance), prevent that damage. (Any other effects of attacks still happen.) This power can't be used if Mr. Mime is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed.

    Kommo-o GX:
    Attack Shred
    Damage: 130
This attack's damage isn't affected by any effects on your opponent's Active Pokémon.

So the question is, is invisible wall considered an "effect"?
Does the Kommo-o GX do damage to Mr Mime or does Invisible Wall prevent the damage?

In Pokemon (almost) everything is an effect.
Yep, Invisible Wall places an effect on Mr Mime and Shred, well, shreds it.
    Mr Mime is Knocked Out.
