Iron Chef - Master Emeritus
Now, for those of you that don't know what's been going on in the deck forum, I have been running a deck contest to select seven people that will represent Pokegym in a sort of national/world championship-esque tournament run by yours truly...the only differenc from regular tourniese?

No playing at ALL! Just simply deckbuilding...the ultimate test on not only your ability to make a quality list, but also to find usage for all of your cards, as well as a way to make it all unique and creative. Sadly, these seven people are not the first, but rather the last to join the hallowed ranks of invitees to Iron Chef's "Tournament of Champions." With my sixteen competitors chosen, on an undisclosed date, these people will duel to decide the ultimate champion of deckbuilding!

However, you may be asking..."Who all is invited?" Well, in addition to these previously invited people:

-Pooka (1st place, Age of Yamato)
-Dendrobatida (2nd place, Age of Yamato)
-Whicker (T8, Age of Kabuto)
-Hypnosproject HQ (T8, Age of Kabuto)
-Criminal (T8, Age of Kabuto)
-Slimeygrimey (T8, Age of Kabuto)
-Superwooper (T8, Age of Kabuto)
-Metagross (T8, Age of Kabuto)
-Magnechu (9th place trickle-down, Age of Kabuto)
-??? (Grinder)
-??? (Grinder)
-??? (Grinder)
-??? (Grinder)

We have these TWELVE fighting for the last seven spots:

~~~GRINDER FINALISTS~~~
~Blazi-King~
Chuzzoe
FlipsareCool
P_A
Pidgeotto Trainer
Venusaur
Acutin
Bullados
Flaming Spinach
Gymbo ex
Mr. Meches
Rokman
Now, without further ado...12th and 11th place! Give 'em a big round of applause, folks! All twelve of these guys performed excellently:
P.S.: If you are among these twelve, please PM Big Daddy Snorlax your name and address so that you may receive your prizes =)
~~~12th Place: Bullados~~~

“Sry for being a little bit late!

Pokemon (9):
2 Pidgey
1 Pidgeotto
2 Pidgeot
2 Lileep
2 Cradilly

Trainers (36):
4 Claw
4 Root
4 Myst
2 Holon Lass
4 Holon Transciever
1 Holon Farmer
3 Celio
3 Candy
3 TV Reporter
3 Steven
1 Briney
1 Strength Charm
3 Ruins

Energy (15):
4 React
2 DRE
1 Scramble
8 Grass

Basically, prize nazi with a bit of RL and Pidgeot for lack of a better Basic to fill the deck out with. Gotta love the InSaNiTy of it all, tho.”

Deck (5/10): Seems to be very inconsistent, with very little backup to the deck…I rarely see you consistently pulling the pidgeot, surviving frontier lock, or putting the transceiver engine to much use…I DO like Lass working to pull reacts, but with Pidgeot able to do that, it doesn’t seem that needed. Way too few Pokemon to successfully pull off anything.

Creativity (1/5): Void of much creativity. All it seems to do is just throw Pidgeot in with Cradily, and that’s it. A lil disappointing L

Card Use (1/5): Doesn’t get much better here, either. You just really don’t abuse the fossils, or the Pokemon connected to them.

OVERALL: 7/20

~~~11th Place: P_A~~~
~~~P_A~~~

”Pokemon 17
3 Anorith - gets out stage ones
2 Armaldo ex
4 Lileep
3 Cradily
3 Kabuto
2 Kabutops

Trainers 24
4 Root Fossil
4 Claw Fossil
4 Mysterious Fossil
3 Strange Cave
2 Scott
1 Mr. Stone's Project
1 Holon Farmer
1 Holon Lass
2 Holon Scientist
2 Holon Tranciever

Energy 19
3 React Energy
10 Fighting Energy
6 Grass Energy”

Deck (4/10): Not too bad, but…I think it could have used some tidying up. You play no draw other than Holon Scientist. Armaldo and Cradily both are so dependent on React Energy, so I would say max those. Is the Transceiver engine even that necessary? Regardless, I like Holon Lass in a list with no Pidgeot or Magcargo/other searcher. Good way to get React Energy. I’m not fond of a lot of the choices, but there are some outstanding things.

Creativity (2/5): I just see a bunch of Fossil evolutions together. It doesn’t seem that original or creative.

Card Use (2/5): Strange Cave and Lass are both quite useful, but the fossils aren’t too terribly abused here.

OVERALL: 8/20

So regardless of whether the audience agrees or disagrees with me on any or all points, this is how I chose to judge these two excellent performers. Tomorrow, you'll get to see who among these made 9th and 10th. Good job to all twelve finalists, once again, and good luck to those hoping to win/get invited!

Send me the address, Wooper. I'll get it done tomorrow (Still remember what you wanted). If one of you guys PM's me with a death threat, it'll be easier to remember, but I'll try to send to you guys. :smile:

Again, thanks for letting me still be in the finals after being late. It was a great contest, and I'm glad I entered. Hopefully my next entry into a contest will be better, and on time. Good luck to the rest of the entrants.
