I believe Poke Powers are still Poke Powers. They are different than abilities. I also am not 100% but I believe the old trainers are still trainers and item cards today are just different. Could be wrong?

A) He was wondering about old Safeguard Pokemon vs new Safeguard Pokemon targeting Ex Pokemon vs EX Pokemon, which is certainly interesting because they are the exact same mechanic but technically different names. Additionally, i'm not sure if you are allowed to use 4 copies of Mewtwo Ex and Mewtwo EX or not, but that is also worth looking into.

B) The current treatment of Items, Trainers, Supporters and Stadiums applies to all cards previous. Many old cards saying "trainer" are in reference to Items, whereas anything trying to refer to modern day trainers will actually spell out "Trainers, Suporters and/or Stadiums."

C) I agree mostly with Vaporeon. However, he overlooked the thing that will absolutely break this imaginary format: Uxie. Claydol and maybe even Porygon2 will be nice too, but with access to Level Ball + uxie, EX decks are going to have so much more speed. AS far as the "no banlist" thing goes you absolutely have to ban Crobat G and Sableye, if not Uxie as well, or no stage 2 will stand a chance.

Thanks for the info. There is NO Ban list because there are NO decks to be in the format. Just basic game mechanics that can hinder somebody.

Mewtwo-ex and Mewtwo EX are Pokemon with different names. You are allowed to use up to 4 copies of both cards in the same deck.

The Safeguard Poke-BODY or Ability works only against the specific types of Pokemon cards listed in the Safeguard Poke-BODY or Ability text. For example Wobbuffet's Safeguard only works against Pokemon-ex, while Sigilyph's Safeguard only works against Pokemon EX.

Guess I could try something with delta pidgeot. Would be fun to do DX to power keepers. The earlier sets are incompatible with bw sets. BW is a whole different game.
