Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

IV Bragging/Inquiry Thread

Mmm...well he is shiny lol the only reason I wanted to breed was for reversal, but the results thus far are dismal. I might train him up anyway, then try to breed a better one. How long does it generally take to breed a desirable pokemon?
Depends on how rigorous your standards are, and how good the parents you start with are. Been working on one after I caught my Duskull in XD, taking a break from the 'Cube, and have been spending about... 4 days on my current project. On my 5th generation of Pokemon, with it having two 31 IVs, and relatively good other stats.

Oh ok, so you can't just take a pokemon with 29-31 on all of it's stats and breed one that's just as good with reversal with one generation? x.x I have no good females to breed with my shiny that aren't bred from him or my other male raticate on that game.

I just thought the parents were all that mattered.
They are. But, you may get stats from different parents, not just the better one, and some random stats. "Pokemon breeding x-act" yields a guide that could be useful to you on this matter.

New XD Playthrough time... You know the drill. Comment if anything looks good. Will narrow the IVs once I have Rare Candies.

Anybody think I should keep this or raise another. I won't put SP. Attack because it doesn't matter.

Aw dang...the parents I have will only yield a desirable pokemon at a chance of 1/5000 x.x I knew I shouldn't have released the one I bred earlier, none of his IVs was below 16 ;_;

Added some new Pokemon to the XD Playthrough list. Any good ones added? The only decent one I see is the Grimer...

Originaly posted by some other person.(Shadowtogetic)your evs are wrong 252+262=514
That's how I do all my pokemon and it works, don't ask me how. My ninjask has 31 attack IVs, I did 252 252 10 and the attack was max so do what I do, don't ask questions if it works. lol.

Okay then. I'm sure the rest of the community would like to know how you do it.
don't ask questions if it works.
That sort of mentality doesn't help much in science.

The fact that you overtrain your Pokemon doesnt mean you'll get the extra points off the extra EV's.

Oh, and I'm doing this on an emerald game, so I have a person who tells me if my pokemon are evd all the way, so I KNOW that it works. And I don't know how I do it, only that it works and that they get evd all the way, so I don't bother trying to figure it out.

Are you sure one of your EV'd stats weren't 1 IV higher? That would account for the mysterious extra 4 "EVs" showing up.

I'm sure. It's because I do 252 in 2 stats, not maxing them pointlesly. 252 is the max number you can get with 4, not 256. and I don't know how it works, it's really weird, because if I don't do 10, it says I'm not evd all the way. Oh, and BTW, stat drinks, 1 drink= 10EVs. for a total of 100 EVs for the 10 stat drinks you can do. So for quicker EVing, do 10 stat drinks in desiered stas first. And if anybody has a shiny pichu (preferabley untouched) in GBA games. If you're coming to the maryland states, I'd like it. I will trade an EV'd pokemon for it. The one problem, you would need to bring a link cable or 2 wireless adapters.

If you add 6 EV's after the 252's the person will still say its maxxed out, or if you add 100 more the person will say it...

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

9. PabloMeza
Armaldo - Adamant/Brave
Iv's: 31/31/20+/X/20+/10-
Knock Of
Of course all oft he below listed have Knock Off. Looky here what popped up!

Anortih - Adamant
31/31/31/X/26/5

10 points away from flawless! Armaldo is slow anyways, so no hindering in Speed nature wont hurt its chances during Trick Room. This is my final.

I also got these very nice spitbacks:

Anortih - Adamant
31/22/27/X/31/31

22 Attack is nothing Swords Dance can't fix, perfect for any non-trick room team.

Anorith - Adamant
10/31/31/X/1/31

Same as above, not meant for Trick Room, but has that max speed and attack, with flawless defense to boot.

So I reckon I'm done here, and got some nice spitbacks to add to my trade thread. I'm glad I made time to finish my breeding today. Just need to get the little bugger cloned.

From a breeding program I entered on another site. The top shows my target IV's, the others listed are the results of my breeding for a month.

I recently caught this Dialga with the following IVs:

Nature: Modest

HP: 28
ATK: 16
DEF: 16
Sp.ATK: 28
Sp.DEF: 21
SPD: 25~26

so... what do you think about it? I plan to train it in HP and Sp.Atk...

For one of my first experiements in DP breeding I've been making Chimchars. Several have had interesting quirks but one really stood out in spite of having a nature that I really wasn't aiming for.

Male Chimchar

Mild (+Sp Att, -Def)

IVs.
HP:29-31 (suspect 30)
Attack:23-25
Defense: 26-28
Speed: 31
Sp. Att: 23-25
Sp. Def: 15-17

Moves at birth: Fire Punch, Thunderpunch, Grass Knot, & Hidden Power (Ice) ... power seems pretty high on this last.

My intention with the breed moves was to keep Thunderpunch and Grass Knot and to use Fire Punch and HP as placehoders for a later fire move and Close Combat.

I'll probably breed a bit more to see if I can get one with a speed boosting nature & slightly better IVs, but overall this guy was by far the best of my first batch. I was considering training him up to level 50 to use in the Battle Tower, but here is where my theorectical knowledge breaks down.

This guy looks like a mixed sweeper or a special sweeper to me. How should I EV train him? Speed obviously but should I max out Sp. Att or split training between that and attack? Also what moves should I keep? HP (Ice) is a nice suprise on a Fire/Fighting type covering Dragons, Birds, and a few other things that might otherwise give him a bit of trouble. I hadn't counted on getting a good HP type & power and a high Sp Attack to go along with it.

Anyone have suggestions?
