Jirachi blocking Delphox v

I am wondering if jirachi’s “Stellar veil” ability blocks delphox v’s mystical fire attack on the benched Pokémon? It stays damage counters should be blocked and delphox’s attack says damage. I was under the impression that these are different and thus it should not apply?

Any help on this question would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Right, those are different things. Manaphy from Brilliant Stars with Wave Veil would block the damage.
