Chapter 12:Smoke and Steam

Jonusi was making his way through Burnt Cave, which eventually led to Steamill Town, where the next gym was located at.
"Wow! Three badges on one week! Mom will never believe this!"said Jonusi joyfully.
He traveled light with his pokeballs in his pocket and bag full of light herbs and berries. He often checked his pokedex for what kinds of pokemon are living in the cave.
"Let's see... there's some Zubats, Magmars... yawn, boring... and a couple Numels. All fairly common in our hometown too. Let's check the town map." Jonusi took out his town map. He looked for Steamill Town. "Ah, here it is. Here's the gym... and here's the cave we're in right now. It looks like our little cave here is connected to a volcano. The lava makes its flow all the way to Steamill town. Let me get out my pokedex for the map to this cave."
He quickly took out his handheld machine called the pokedex and accesed "map mode".
"We're not even close to the exit. Darn. And it's kinda dark here. Pegasaurus! Flash please!"
Pegasuarus was called out of her pokeball and lit the whole cave. It was massive after the light revealed the whole cave.
"Wow! It's beautiful! Let's get busy!"
Jonusi was walking through the cave and was often looking back at his guide, the pokedex. He soon found a wild pokemon. He took out his pokedex and pointed it at the pokemon.
Slugma(male)lv.20
Length:2'4"
Weight:77.2 lbs

Slugma does not have any blood in its body. Instead, intensely hot magma circulates throughout this pokemon's body, carrying essential nutrients and oxygen to its organs.

"Wow! I gotta catch this weird looking thing!"Jonusi said. He first sent his Mirruzar to attack it. "Mirruzar! Mirror Beam!"
Mirruzar flashed a clear beam from its eyes. It hit Slugma with multiple shots. Slugma noticed Mirruzar attacking him, so the pokemon attacked back. It started with a simple ember.
"Mirruzar! Drill peck!" The Mirruzar rushed his beak at the Slugma. Mirruzar was often hit by the embers, but it was still fine.
"Come back, Mirruzar! Go, Machop!"said Jonusi after grabbing another pokeball. The Machop came out and ready for some fighting. "Machop! Superpower!"
"Ma-chopa!"said the Machop. It started to yank at a boulder at the ground. All of a sudden, a paw landed on Machop. Machop looked up at the pokemon. It was a Torkoal and was shaking its head.
"Tork-Tork-Torkoal"said the Torkoal.
"I guess if you pull that boulder out, the lava will rush out. After all, it's connected to the volcano and this is their home. Thanks, Torkoal."said Jonusi.
Torkoal smiled and started walking away.
"Wait! Torkoal!"said Jonusi. Torkoal looked back. "I need to capture you! I just need you for my team!"
Torkoal turned around and was in battle position. "Machop, Low kick!"Jonusi commanded.
"Ma-choppa choppa chop!"said Machop while kicking at Torkoal's legs.
Jonusi took out his pokedex for battle data.
Machop(male) lv.18
hp:55/55

Torkoal(male) lv.21
hp:62/70
"That did a decent amount of damage!"said Jonusi. "Now, Machop! Karate Chop!"
Machop hit the Torkoal with all of its strength. Now Torkoal was down to 45 hp.
"Pokeball, GO!"Jonusi yelled while throwing a pokeball. It hit Torkoal and it flashed in a red light, then went into the pokeball. It shook once and broke.
"This one's a tough one." Torkoal now used tackle. It hit Machop, but Machop was not knocked-out yet. Jonusi now took out an Ultra Ball, a little something he bought from Chrono Town. He threw it at the Torkoal and it made a red light again, and then it rushed into the pokeball, again. It shook, but didn't break this time. It stopped shaking after a while. Jonusi prouldy picked the pokeball up and took out the Torkoal. Torkoal was impressed and was proud to be a part of Jonusi's team.
"Okay, Torkoal! Guide the way through this cave! We've got a badge to earn!"

Chapter 13: Slugma and a Surprise!

Torkoal guided Jonusi through the dark cave. They had been traveling for about 45 minutes, which seemed like hours in the dull cave. Just when Jonusi was about to give up, he saw a bright light coming from the cave.
"Is that the exit to Steamill Town? Tell me, I'm anxious for a battle."
Torkoal nodded and continued his job. They soon made their way out of the dark cave and into the beautiful village of Steamill Town. The village was small, yet so colorful with reds, blues, greens, and yellows everywhere. The young pokemon trainer was amazed at the sight of such an interesting place.
"Wow! Steam badge, here I come!" Jonusi ran through the crowded village. It was filled with people chatting, shopping, excercising, and some even battling with pokemon.
Jonusi stopped by the pokemart for some potions, some pokeballs(Great Balls to be exact), and some burn heals. His money was most wasted on the latter. He faced many gyms, each increasing in power and strategy.
"Wow! It sure is crowded. All the Ultra Balls were taken and so were the revives. Tough luck, guys."said Jonusi to his pokemon. "I wonder when Seedu evolves. I've trained him up to level 20 like the rest of you."
The Seedu was depressed and felt it was letting his trainer, Jonusi down. He ran through the village, shoving and bumping into people. Many "excuse me"'s and "sorry"'s were said each time he bumped into people. That is, until Jonusi was almost through the marketplace when he bumped into a boy his age.
"Whoops! Sor--"
The crowd gasped and some even started making angry expressions at Jonusi. He felt as though he had just commited a murder in front of the whole crowd. The boy got up, but was covered in mud.
"Careful, uh- trainer. Here! I'll help you up."said the boy as he helped Jonusi up, who was also somewhat dirty.
"I'm sorry, the name's Jonusi. Jonusi Hirrami. I-uh I'm from Sunset Town. I'm sorry. I think I've ruined your grocery bags."
"It's okay. My name's William. Wait! Are those badges on your shirt?"said the boy.
Jonusi observed his shirt. The vest was completely ripped apart, so it revealed the badges that were hidden beneath his vest. Jonusi whispered something to William.
"Why is the crowd staring at me like I commited a crime?"
William looked around. Jonusi was right, the crowd was glaring at Jonusi.
"Well, I'm the gym leader of this town."said William.
Jonusi sprang up right when he heard this. "I-I-I'm sorry. Here! Let me help you up!"he said while dusting the dirt and wiping the mud. "I had no idea."
"It's okay. I see you've already got 3 badges on ya!"said William.
Jonusi nodded proudly. "Can I challenge you to a pokemon battle for the next badge, or are you mad of all this?"
"No, it's fine. I accept your challenge, Jonusi."
They finally reached the gym of Steamill Village.
Jonusi sent the first pokemon out. "Go, Mirruzar!"
The Mirruzar came out of its pokeball after a long rest. William sent out a Slugma.
"Slugggg!"said the Slugma.
The gym leader made the beginning move. "Slugma! Spitfire!"
The slug-like pokemon spit out a ball of fire at Jonusi's Mirruzar.
"Mirruzar! Mirror beam! Reflect the Spitfire back at the Slugma!" The Mirruzar shot out a clear beam from its eye, which hit the Fire. The fireball was now speeding at the opposite direction. It hit the Slugma, along with the Mirror Beam. Slugma was down and out.
William was forced to call back his Slugma. Now, William was down to his last pokemon.
"Go, Camerupt!"said William.
"Whoa! Another pokemon I never saw! Let me check the data for this!"said Jonusi while taking his pokedex out.
Camerupt(male)lv.30
Eruption pokemon
Length: 6'3"
Weight: 485 lbs.

The humps on Camerupt's back are formed by a transformation of its bones. They sometimes blast out molten magma. This pokemon apparently erupts often when it is enraged.

"Cool looking pokemon! I gotta see how powerful it really is! Mirruzar! Aerial Ace!"commanded Jonusi.
The bird flew up above the Camerupt and rushed down.
William quickly said,"Never put anything over Camerupt's volcano-like hump! It can blast at the thing, melting it to liquid! Camerupt! Eruption!"
It bursted out massive fireballs the size of the two trainers combined. They hit the ground with such force, that they made craters everywhere on the floor within the arena. Mirruzar was eventually hit and was down.
"Return, Mirruzar. Go, Machop!"
The Machop came out of his pokeball. "Machop, Lightning Fists!"
"Ma-chop!"said Machop while punching at the Camerupt. Machop's fists were as fast as a Hitmonchan's. Camerupt looked like it didn't even feel the punches. With one powerful stomp, Machop was down. Jonusi was starting to worry. Two of his pokemon already knocked-out. Will Jonusi have any plans left? Will he have a chance?

Darn! I just finished chapter 14 and when i clicked post, it took me to an error page DARN! DARN

%$^$^%^$&%^%&^%**^(*%*&%!!!

Sorry guys. Dunno what happened. I guess pokegym was down.

Well, since I've got nothing to do, I'll post the next chapter, but hope it works!

Chapter 14: Hope and Belief

Machop was instantly out from a single Stomp. He flinched, got up, but fell a second time and never got back up. Jonusi was forced to recall Machop and send out a new pokemon.
"Go, Pegasaurus!"said Jonusi. Pegasaurus came out, spread its wings wide and prepared for combat. The first move was a Fire Spin, though had little effect. They then stared each other down. They waited for their masters to call out the next move. Both had a strong and un-breakable heart, with only one thing on their mind: focus.
Pegasaurus was commanded to use a Stomp. Camerupt backed up and snorted. It came back at Pegasaurus with a charging tackle. The fiery steed was down, but was up instantly for another blow. The next tackle for Camerupt was a miss. Pegasaurus flew behind Camerupt and Stomped it from the back. Camerupt fell back into the ground. It made a light crack in the ground as the Camerupt fell on its massive body. It cried in pain, got back up, and tackled Pegasaurus with another tackle, which was a critical hit.
"Pegasaurus!"screamed Jonusi as Pegasaurus fell to the ground, hurt badly. Jonusi quickly gave it a potion, so she just got up for the next attack. The next move Jonusi commanded was a Fire Spin, which trapped Camerupt. Then, a sing attack which put Camerupt to sleep for a short while. As Camerupt snoozed, Pegasaurus bruised. First, was a tackle, followed by a protect to defend herself from a Snore attack. Then, as Pegasaurus finished its third attack, Stomp, Camerupt woke up from a nap. As it woke up, he felt the pain from the attacks while he slept, that he fell down foreward. According to Jonusi's pokedex, Camerupt was down to 22/145 hp.
Pegasaurus used another tackle without hesitation at Camerupt. The camel got down even more. He gasped for air as it was low on hp. Then, William used a bottle of full restore on him.
Camerupt got back up and this time, used eruption. Lava and rocks burst from Camerupt's volcano-like humps and came rushing down at a high speed. Pegasaurus dodges the lava until there was nowhere to run. It was trapped at the corner of the arena. If Pegasaurus took one step back, she and Jonusi would be disqualified from the match because she would be stepping out of the arena. If she took a step foreward, it would be close enough for Camerupt to land a clear hit on her. She and Jonusi were out of ideas. There was nowhere to run. As it was ready for a sing attack, a rock hit her on the head, severely injuring her, and knocking her out. Jonusi called back Pegasaurus.
Now, Jonusi sent out his turtle-like pokemon, Torkoal. It was another fire pokemon, but was a better choice than sending out his plant-type pokemon, Seedu. Torkoal started out with a smokescreen to make Camerupt hard to see. Then, Torkoal used a sand-attack, which lessened Camerupt's accuracy even more. Camerupt yelled in frustration as as it missed 6 attacks in a row. William was starting to worry about Camerupt.
"Camerupt! Focus! He's making you lost focus because of the attacks which take up your sight. Sight isn't the most important sense you must have to fighting. You must use them all equally. You focus too much on sight, like all other pokemon! You must focus! Use your smell and hearing. If you were a truely worthy pokemon, you could do this blind-folded! Come on! Remember how we used to train in the caves! You know how the caves smell like. Just focus on the smell of the cave. Go for it, Camerupt!"
Camerupt closed his eyes. It tried to focus on the smell. He used the sense of smell to locate exactly where Torkoal. The whole room was filled with complete silence. Then, Camerupt quickly flashed open his eyes and stared into one area through the smoke. It wasn't staring at the smoke; it was staring beyond. It bent back, then rushed its body through the thick smoke. Finally, he hit the Torkoal from behind. Torkoal was unready for this sneak-attack, so it fainted in shock. Jonusi had one pokemon left. One pokemon that had the least chance to defeat William. It was hopeless. All he had left was his cheerful and gentle, leaf type, low leveled, Seedu.
