Does anyone know of any games in which a character goes to many different varieties of places that does NOT have any lava (or magma) (or acid) in it whatsoever? Or is lava (or magma) (or acid) in almost every video game?

Well there are plenty. Or did you mean games that are actually good? In that case, none that I can think of (this should not be taken to mean that I believe lava makes a game good, it simply means that by some strange coincidence I've never played that sort of game where it's been good, that hasn't had lava. Odd, isn't it?)

There are no spikes in Pokemon DP that I am aware of.
    Other than that, none really.

I'm pretty sure there's no lava in Call of Duty 4.

    Kid Icarus.

and w/e game Ice climbers are from.

If they are random enough to be in smash, they are random enough for this topic.

Ice Climbers don't exactly travel to too many different places. Nor does Pit.

Yeah and we said good games, lawlz...

Prince of Persia (Sands trilogy, not original, which does have lava) and Assassin's Creed don't have lava.

Gears of War technically doesn't have lava, it's magma since it's underground... but I guess that also applies to a lot of alleged lava-filled games ;x

Not ALL the ones I've played

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Yeah, honestly, since I'm sure you guys talk to each other, you really don't need to both post the same thing in almost every topic.

Metroid - Most of these games have no lava, and great grafics whether your playing the sidescroller or the FPS they're all great games (and no lava).

Maybe not the most recent ones, but look back at the first Metroid. There's lava There.

Well, let's put it this way. Programmers like to put deadly impassible terrain in levels. It keeps players from (usually) going too far off-course without dying, allows for jumping puzzles with a certain degree of mistakes (sometimes)... and it's usually natural for a given environment.

Correct; he changed the question from just lava to lava and magma. Then, after asked, he added the third.
