Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

League Applications Timeline Questions

I hope I'm posting this in the right place, if not please forgive a forum lurker/newbie!

I applied last month to become an organizer, and promptly sent off my background check application through priority mail. I had heard people have trouble getting responses, so I figured at least knowing when it arrived would give me some peace of mind.

About a week after it was marked as delivered I sent an inquiry through the support website. Two days after that I got an e-mail requesting that I submit my background check information. This concerned me. So I used the "add additional information tab" to ask if my paperwork had arrived or if I needed to resubmit it. This was in August.

I haven't received any replies and I'm starting to get concerned about the whole process. The store I'm starting a league at (Cards and Comics Central in San Francisco) tried to start a league last year with another player and after countless issues the player vanished and never communication again. All the owner knows is that he said TPCI was taking a long time/had lost his paperwork/etc. And then after a few months he vanished. (I've tried to contact him to see if I could get more information about his experiences, but I haven't heard anything.)

I googled around a lot to collect other experiences like mine and figured out if I could get a timeline, and I saw a lot of people posting at PokeGym and getting responses and feedback etc. So I thought it would be worth a try. I've been a PokeGym lurker for years (started playing TCG during Jungle, was active briefly during Advance Gen, and then very active during Diamond and Pearl and Platinum).

So, what I should I do from here? Am I doing everything right and this is normal? Or am I missing something?

Your timeline does not sound unusual at all from other recent posts. I've heard of folks unfortunately waiting several months to almost a year before approval. As frustrating as it may be, my advice is to be patient. You have done all the steps I would normally advise folks to do, including tracking your background check and creating a ticket.

In the meantime, if it is feasible to begin League meetings without a formal league - it might increase the visibility of the league once it is formally approved. Best of luck!
