Good deck as usual. My tweaks:

    1. I know your love for plus powers because they're stackable. But you run 3 castaways, wouldn't you want to put 1 or 2 strength charms in instead since they would be searchable. (only I, hwoever, am allowed to use a "Jeffy" strength charm!).

    2. Why no Empoleon Level X--supreme command can really mess up an oppoenent's strategy?

    3. Any thought to Glacia's stadium--even though you will still probalby beat my Electivire deck senseless, if your lucario line got knocked out early and you were facing an electric deck, they would beat you pretty badly (especially if the electric person were packing a Lake Boundary).

    4. Any thought to a Starter Pokemon like Mawhile, Stantler, or Budew to help get your supporters out more quickly.

If I survive the dentist, I may see you guys on Tuesday.

I knew that some one would post that. I'll update. Thanks.

    1. becuase I have cessation crystal.

2.Because it takes up one of your empoleon.

3.No becuase piplup and riolu are my 'starters'

Hi John. Empoleon Level X, good as it may seem, is really a not needed card for this deck because it can really slow down this deck. By adding an Emp lv x, you are really making it a stage 3 and in reality Emp lv x is not helpful at all.

Points well taken--I'm curious what the forum members think of Supreme Command. I also have a vested interest in this particular deck since my son CJ has been running an Empoleon based deck since September and so you folk are making me consider whether he should change his level X to a fourth plain Empoleon.

My daughter put the LvX in her deck and it seems to work good but only time will tell, I need to investigate further.

The point of the Lv.X is to either remove status and add 10 hp, or to get Supreme Command into play, bench that Empoleon, then hand disrupt for the rest of the game. This is excellent in a wager heavy deck, and even better with a tech 1-1 Mantine MT.

Please clarify-how does Empoleon Level X remove status--I didn't think levelling up was the same as evolving so I didn't think levelling up would remove special conditions from plain Empoleon.

jconti2818: see here about removing special conditions when you level up

fchangus2--Thanks a heep! I forgot that and I think many of us forget that when we're playing--a helpful feature of Level X's (I play 2 Level X's in an Electivire based deck). It probably therefore does make sense for my son to keep it in his deck--what do the other forum members think about BBC changing it in his deck given this added info?

Look at my sig. if you doubt me, but Empoleon Lv.x wins games.

i played it in 2 battle roads with empoleon lvx fininshing in my signaure i love thise deck but i lost twice in the cut to an electivire so time for a change maybe. one of those games i had a piplup and lvx and a rare candy so that kind of felt weird a i also like mepoleon lvx s body/power but if you run cessation crystal....

anytime i've attempted this deck , i've based it around lucario as the optimal attacker, instead of being a new ambush,

basically you want to donk people, so you need 4 pluspower and multiple strength charms, lucario and prinplup can donk most basics t2,

as far as strategy, i've always seen empoleon to be the least important card in general, i just use it when the hp is necessary, otherwise i could go a whole game only using lucarios and prinplups, aqua shower is a key attack, and brine is almost the same as ice blade

my empoleon line would look like this, 3-3-3 , using 2-3 candies, if you want an x that's your call, i love the pwer for disruption, but the attack is kind of bad, it's really up to you i mean i'm sure you can clear out that one space, i've never said to myself, "wow empoleon lv x could come in handy right now" to me it's kind of irrellevent to the deck, maybe i just don't know it well enough

i would personally replace the scramble with another dre or a basic, if you donk, you don't need scrambles, and since neither of the evolved main attackers have much for colorless requirements...

Scramble is amazing with Empoleon. Really, it's too good to not be used with it. I also wouldn't play 3 Wager, I'd only play 1. Up your Cessation Crystal to 4, too good in this deck to not max out.

2 Would be good IMO, the format isn't full of Bodies/powers ATM I believe.
Just because you don't use Power/Bodies (there's still LucX though), it doesn't mean that you have to play 4 Ces. Crystals.

You need Castform. (1 or 2)
Add Scramble, it's essential in a Empoleon deck, and I like 3 DRE in here, even though it lowers you dmg to the bench too.

I know most ppl will think that EmpX is a bad play, but I say play it.
You don't focus on Emp all the time, so you can effort having the Lv. X in. Sniping 80 isn't bad at all, and the power is cute.

Also, 3 TGW is overkill, and I don't see you recovering easily when losing it. I'd say play 1.

3 Castaway is also too much IMO, i'd play 2. If you follow my suggestions, then you only play 2 Ces. Crystals, so it doesn't search out a tool every time, though, I suggest adding a Str. Charm.

Pokedex is also neat in any deck.

I also think you should play 4 Multi.

^ I agree with you on everything excepth the Castform.

With only 8 basic, there is a good chance of starting with it, and thats never good.

Oh, drop 1 Riolu for a Empoleon Lv.x., that 80 to anything can be a game winner. It gets even better with warppoint.

I play test the deck. I went 5-2. Lost to a water resistances(sp?) deck and an elecvire deck(jconti2818's)

Yeah 3 TGW is a little to much. I cut it down to 2 and added 1 more plus power.

Absol ex is really good in this deck, sure you run the risk of starting with it, but it's good.
