This question is on behalf of us knowing that Gardilade is going to be played. Does anyone think this deck is all luck?

I mean, you have to topdeck a lot of the cards in order to get things started.

No that deck doesn't really need luck. You don't need to topdeck anything as long as you don't play with absol. If you play with absol then yes you do need luck to get good cards out of your opponents hand and also to topdeck cards to help you set up but anything else with a starter like stantler you don't need luck because you get supporter that are needed with that and then you set up a galade and then you just start attacking or you could go set up and get a gardy out and set up your bench with gardy and stantler. Then you attack.

well, what if you have Furrets and can't get them out? that's a big time for topdecking. Also, if someone uses TGW, you would try to topdeck a Gallade or a DRE or something.

I'm not exatcly sure what someone using furret will do but ive never seen one with furret. If you are in the middle of a game then you should have a gardy up to get stuff and hopefully you get stuff in wager. If you are in the beging of a game then every deck would need that kind of luck so you can't say its just gardylade that needs luck.

Then play 4 Celio's Network and get the Furret, or play Stantler or Mawile and don't worry about the evolution.

Don't most decks kinda rely on topdecking after a Wager?

Gardigallade w/o absol is probably the least luck based deck in this format so far.

Does a deck that allow you to use your opponents own resurces against them an unlimited amount of times depend mostly on luck? Seriously, you wager them, yu had BETTER not have played any big draw cards, because you will feel stupid if they win the wager and procede to use your own stevens against you. G&G is a powerful and consistant deck, which is why its tier one.

There is always luck in games, but Gardevior just helps setup so much that it isn't like any old deck that relies in trainers to set it up. Once you get Gardevior up, there isn't much luck in the matter.

while playtesting against G/G I realized you don't play TGW at all even if you run Cess. Crystal since they run Windstorm. Because then it's an infinite Wager on their side. So like you mentioned they could use your steven's or your wager right back until they win that wager and leaving you to top deck what you need.

There are a few cards that could break this rule though: Delcatty, and Claydol once it comes out.

The thing I like to do for most of my lists is to have more then double on straight draw supporters then wagers.

Gardy/Gallade is hardly luck orientated. With Furret AND the upcoming Phione, you can literally setup without using a single one of your own supporters. Losing Wager requires EVERYTHING to draw well out of it as well, so I don't get that argument whatsoever.
