Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Luxray GL/ Garchomp C

@thedrone1man:
I don't think BDK was played in sablelock before it won nats last year.
Yes, you wrote an article, that makes you awesome, now you know exactly what you are talking about, right?
Lostgar sees your hand anyway when it goes to use plunge into darkness. Might as well get a chance to see their hand, too.

This is my favourite NON-Underground LC Article, it covers it all, if had to point something out i'll go with Sablelock Match-Up, it's terrible when they hit double heads on iniciative and began the control freak mode with chatot G, This are just my toughts As a luxchomp player sinking in to a Sablelock Metagame, however i've been victoriuos on 8 out of 12 times, but it stills being a hard bone
Excelent article (i'm sorry if i got any grammar mistakes)
Greetings From México

Thanks dude. Yeah, the Sablelock is hard, but the reason Im putting it at even is if they DONT hit heads haha.

First off, props for putting in the effort into the article. The list is solid, the explanations are well thought out and the matchups are at least explained even if they're not entirely accurate. However, I have a few nitpicks with the list and techs.

I don't like the fact that there's a whole bunch of T/S/S that can be pretty crucial in LuxChomp that you don't mention anywhere, even in the techs section. I might elaborate later when I have more time but here's a few things:

- No mention of Junk Arm
- No mention of VS Seeker/2nd Aaron's
- 3 SP Radar and 2 Communication with no Junk Arm is not a great play
- No Premier Ball and only 1 Aaron's with 2-2 Chomp and no Draggy in main list? Your list is weak in the mirror
- Looker's should be a tech rather than in the main list

There's other stuff I'll talk about later as well when I have more time.

There is so much stuff that can be added to LuxChomp that it would take centruies to add bro. I strongly advertise Junk Arm a choice BUT I have never needed it. Nope. Never. I solemnly swear that I never had an issue with needing Junk arm which is why I did not feel the need to put it in the article.

Talk of using 3-1 or 2-2 chomp, different counters and what not is all play style/meta calls but, 1 Aarons, no VS seeker and no premier balls means you'll have a hard time recovering (Smeargle can help with this but, isn't solid enough on its own) and you'll lose more often than you should to machamp as 99% of the time you'll only get to use 1 zen blade. Other than that the list seems consistent and the article has good but, old information;if you're writing an article on the MD-CL format you have to talk about how you think the Gengar Prime match up is and junk arm/rescue energy and maybe even lost remover as being an option in LuxChomp. Good job over all though I'll put some stars on there for you lol.

You'd get more respect from people if they felt like you cared or listen expecially when alot of them have more experience with the deck than you bro

I understand what you are saying, but I have not denied everything presented to me.

radical: You didnt read the matchups did you? LostGar is a matchup.

oh my bad i did but, after i read it i starting writing for a bit I couldn't remember if you wrote about it, then went back CTRL F'ed "gengar prime" and get anything so I went on.

Well actually, this list isn't my exact list as stated. The list shown is meant to be VERY basic and for the absolute beginner. I would recommend playing Draggy and Pom if you really have an issue with beating SP(my actual list runs Draggy). I feel that a 2-2 Chomp can beat PS relatively easy if played correctly and safely.

And to further strengthen my statement, I playtest against skilled Oregon Masters and Seniors who are highly ranked. Most have had various accomplishments on a very high level.

So because it's for a beginner, they don't need techs for the current BDIF?

It doesn't matter if you're playtesting with Lafonte, if your list with 2-2 Garchomp and a single Ambipom G is going 50-50 in the mirror, then your testing partners aren't up to scratch.

I agree with this. Your article overall is good, but you need to listen to other people more.

Junk Arm isn't a card that you NEED as such. You don't realise how good it is until you try it.

It's a card with massive utility - dump stuff for bigger Uxie draw, get a 5th Turn (don't tell me you have never wanted a 5th Turn in a game), or any other useful Trainer.

Also, when you write an article the idea is to give as much helpful info as possible. Just because YOU personally don't 'need' Junk Arm, doesn't mean that someone else can't benefit from having it listed as a tech.

It's a good article but it's not perfect. You should listen to people who are being constructive and don't be so defensive . . . that's how you improve.

I do care about what people have to say, even if it may not look like it. (its the reason im on the Gym like every hour). In response to the mirror matchup and how it is a dificult matchup with only Pom and 2-2 Garchomp, I agree and Disagree. If the mirror is played correctly, the matchup should be even. When I say mirror, I mean pretty much the average list, which this is.

If you're teching in Dialga G Lv. X (lots of Vilegar and Lostgar in my state), would a 1-1 or 2-2 line be best? A 1-1 line leaves more room for Trainers and such, but a 2-2 wouldn't leave you totally screwed if one of them got Lost Zone'd.

Also, is there any room for Stadiums in this deck?

A 1-1 Line is way better, 2-2 will only clog up your hand and give some bad starts so I would not recommend it.

Nope, no room for stadiums sorry.
