Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Magmortar Lvl X

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, the deck article done by your truly is updated with the new Magmortar and of course new additions and matchips.

Cheers :)

Possibly you forgot to change your Deck List with the new Magmortar.

I have been playing around with a similar deck and it is fantastic, love Magmortar's Fireball Bazooka, to set up multiple KO's!!!

There is absolutely no reason to run Magmortar MT. His big attack only dealy 20 less than Magmortar SW's first attack for the same cost, and he either requires two energy discarded or you to run him as a stage two. He cannot heal himself, he can't hit the bench, and he has 10 less health than the SW version. So, unless you REALLY like that smoke bomb attack, there is realisticly no reason to use the MT version.

This deck is good, i got 2nd at City Championships with it ^^, is nice to have 4 delcatties PK in the deck so you have high chances to topdeck it or start with one in your hand and dont have to waste a Celios to search for one.

Jason I prefer Mentor over Roseane because you can discard a fire energy.
I also prefer copycat over wager. Maybe 2 copycat 1 wager or 2 wager 1 copycat.

well thats the preference by makers but this can still be a standard list for netdeckers you know. we want netdecks to make changes to get it right themselves, do we?

^Well, it is a very nice deck but I strongly disagree with your Kricketune matchup.
Many Quickitune decks run some Crystal beach and that will cut your DRE's to nothing. Most also run Cess so Torrid Wave is gone, Flame Body is gone, Blastoise's power is gone and so is Delcatty's. Add that to the fact that Quickitune sets up faster than Mag because of these things and you get a 60-40/55-45 in Quickitune's favour.

Um dude, Kricketune can still be roasted thanks to Magmortar SW's 60damage attack plus healing body so kricketune can be useless after a while ^^

Kricketune has problems with things that have high HP. For every Mag you KO, they KO 2 Tunes. Crystal Beach isn't a factor because most of the time, Magmortar will only have basic energy cards on it. And with the introduction of Pachirisu from GE, Cess Cyrstals become discard fodder.

So yeah people. Jason can you update your article to be HP-GE stuff and yeh... Cause magmortar definately deserves to be in the Archetype page.

Magmortar starts with Pachirisu. Now it's basically guaenteed to get one CFF off. That means, you are likely to be staring down the barrel of a Magmortar by T2 if you KO the Pachi.

Fair enough. I didn't think of that. But still, the Magmortar needs to be powered up(and scramble is stopped by crystal beach) so it may take a little bit of time. But yes, I agree.

Magmortar plays Tauros and Windstorm/Stadiums.

Kriketune is not even and issue.

Heck, if i start with Magmar and go first, i KO your Kriketot T2 and you can't attack.
