Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

MD regionals

150+

LOL. The first time I read this, I thought it said, "Maybe 6.6 people=full car.

That's not full.. Max I've been through is 8 people in a regular 4-door sedan. 2 in the front, 4 in the back, 1 on top of the four, and 1 in the trunk. During summertime, we drove for about 25 miles with child-proof lock doors and the heater on full blast, taking the sharpest turns possible. Fun.....

Maryland and Virginia law require that anyone under the age of 16 and riding in the back must have a seat belt. So, currently I can't get away with it.

What did you do for someone to submit you to such torcher?

Anywayz, what a tournament!

The good:

>Beating Philip(Pikamaster)
>Watching Patrick torcher Danny the whole way up.
>Pwning Philip.(Pikamaster)
>Getting to Wendy's before the crowd.
>Donking Philip.(Pikamaster)
>Mario Kart ftw.
>Waisting Philip.(Pikamaster)
>Winning a Darkrai tin, and drawing a Gallade in one of the packs.
>Donkfesting Philip.(Pikamaster)
>Getting a cool Pokemon hat and a promo Electivire.(obviously)
>Taking Philip, winner of VA (and MD also, I think) States, out of the top cut.(Pikamaster)
>Achieving contact with Timothy.(ShadowCard)
>Beating Philip's Plox with Skittles, a.k.a. donk.dec.
>Making 4-2 with Skittles.

The bad:

>It was hot in there.
>It was cramped in there.
>It was loud in there.
>There was only one bathroom, which had no lock.
>The players yelling "results" in my ear and not waiting 5 seconds before yelling it again.
>Yet again, my deck registration had errors. Somehow, my deck magically mixed itself up when it was put in order the night before.
>Making 10th.(SO CLOSE!)

The ugly:

>Seeing Philip's toungue multiple times when he went "bleah!" at me, which was about 20 times a minute, for atleast 15 minutes.
>Philip bribing people to attack me.
>Getting poked by The King Of Magikarps the whole way home.
>Almost dying of laughter from watching Patrick torcher Danny.

-I must have heard the question, "What's the size of the top cut in my age division?" about 20 times. Kevin said it in the announcements before the tournament started. Pay attention the first time.:nonono: It was all in the announcments. You should have heard it.

My deck is not a secret anymore IMO. I played walrein. I'll post my list in a bit.

Great event, great day!! Congrats to Spencer, Patrick, and Steven for their wins, but I'd also like to commend all players on their sportsmanship! Given the heat, humidity, and cramped quarters, some temper flare-ups could have occurred, but the players did the MD/VA area proud (and NC too, since the Hills were there!) Props to Kevin, Nick, Ryan, and Portia (is that everybody???). It was great working with you--lmk if you ever want to judge any of my events! A big shout out to Mike L. for making the cross-country trip to MD. Don't know if the trip to MD was the long straw or the short straw of the "PUI visitation project" but I really appreciate that you guys do this to help the players put a "face" to PUI. Players, please remember that Mike, Pete, and Dave work 40 hours per week (ok, that's probably a huge underestimate!) and have families that would probably rather them NOT zip off to the other end of the country for a quick weekend trip only to be back in the office on Monday. It's sacrifices like this that show me that PUI really does care about its players!!!!! Also, a big thank you to Laurel for running a great event and taking care of her judging staff--the Chipotle run was a godsend!!

My only slop is that times between rounds were a bit ......long. Don't know if this was a TOM issue or human error with inputing data (seems that a lot of match results were initially showing up incorrectly throughout the day--thank goodness for standings being posted ea. round and vigilant players!!)

No one likes to lose. But as pointed out in totoro's thread, I think it was more of that were are in a hot, cramped environment and taking a few losses.

Me too. I'm beginning to think scheduling that was a mistake :frown:

People, if a deck is played at a public event, it is no longer secret. Just post what the person played. I'd post it for you, but I have to prepare for league. I hope Pokegym will enforce its rules on tournment reports on people who are intentionally trying to cover-up what their opponent's played.
