I know, I've been saying this for weeks. Still, it has to be said. How does the PSP generate sales?!? 3 games in the top 50, and none in the top 10, it's madness how this thing continues to sell!!!

Same thing for the DS, but a different reason. At 22million+, you'd expect it to be reaching its saturation point in Japan. Not so. It's consistently pulling down ~50k/week, and shows no signs of slowing down.

Wii is still selling very well. It probably won't catch up the PSP LTD numbers any time in the near future, but it's still doing 50k+ consistently. For the "weakest" of the systems, that's quite an achievement.

PS3 = phail. Plain and simple. Yes, there is a PS3 game in the top 10 (#2). However, there are also 5 different PS2 games before the next PS3 game. Plus, with only 3 games in the top 50, there is no way it's selling enough to keep making a profit. I think might I have to start bringing the DBZ references forward again...

Possibly price cut, one thing that needs to be looked at is how much does the PSP cost, does it come with bundles, is it bundled with a PS2 or PS3 perhaps? Maybe a price cut?

It really dont make much sense as to why its selling like that with really nothing to add to it.

It's more expensive than the DS, and the only bundle that I know of was the limited edition bundle with FFVII. I don't think that it would generate sales for its media capabilities, as the UMD format is pretty much dead, and it costs too much for MP3s. I'm constantly confounded by these insane sales.

Chris, can you grab the NPD data? Thx!

    When was the FFVII bundle?

Do they include sales from FFVII if it was bundled with a PSP?

FF7 bundle was last Fall, the same time as the initial PSP bump on Donny's chart. September, give or take. The Slim had a HUGE bump, but I think that was just ppl trading their Phats for Slims.

Oh, expect a bit of a DS bump next week. Pokemon Ranger dropped, and had a massive first day of about 127,000.
