I had this idea at the XY prerelease

Mega Ring
ACE SPEC - Supporter

Look through your deck for a pokemon that MEGA-evolves from one of your pokemon in play and place it on that pokemon. This does NOT end your turn.

I don't think it should be a Supporter - not only does it not make sense thematically, I don't think it's strong enough to warrant it.

I really, really like it! I'd have to agree with the others, though, Supporters are generally supposed to represent characters, not items (and I don't think this is too overpowered to be an item card). If you wanted to keep it a supporter, maybe use the card name Korrina or Gurkinn?

In regards to sir David Thomas, Korrina seems like the person they would go with on a Supporter with an effect like this one. The art could be the sprite from the Lucario battle where her Mega Stone glove is visible. I feel like this kind of card effect is something they are going to do very soon.

I actually think Mega-evolving without ending your turn (and from your deck, too!) is quite strong enough to warrant being a Supporter effect, or an ACE SPEC. I'm not sure it should be both though.

'course, if you took away the part about not ending your turn, you'd just have Evosoda.

Would it still count as evolution or would this be able to be played turn one? If it can be played turn one I could maybe see it as an ace spec.

I would remove the Supporter part and change it to "from your hand". You may say it would be to weak to be an AceSpec then, but you have to remember how strong these cards are. M-CharizardEX (X) with Protection cube gets a KO every time with no drawbacks. And between Emboar and Blacksmith, the 5 energy cost is not a big issue. Even with the 5 energy, YveltalEX would need 5 energy (or 4 with Band) to KO it. And with the exception of BlackKyurem with Band (lol) it rly can't be 1hit-KOd without the use of Weakness.
Blastoise is basicly just Darkrai on steroids, putting out 180dmg for 3 energy. And with Pyroar comeing into play, Mega Evolution will become somewhat more relevant.
The only problem with Megas today is the end of turn issue.

If you mega evolve in t2 or t3, still worth your turn, but back to the item/support question, if this is an item, it could be abused with sableye and other item retrieving stuff, being a support is harder to get from the discard pile and at least you lost something important in the turn (the support for the turn), since mega should end your turn!
